Yes. Don't you see the rooster tail behind Gustav? (sorry)

lol yep... New Orleans...if this verifies, then I dont think people will be as willing to rebuild new orleans as they were last time.

Why did that sound like a really tacky comment?

cheezy doesn't seem like the type, but I'd prefer to leave the New Orleans rebuilding and Nagin-bashing out of this thread.

IMO it's close enough to NOLA to create panick now.

1,200 miles away (from N.O.) does not sound that close to me when the
error cone is 300 miles to each side.

Lol Im sorry...but think about it. Assuming this track verifies (too early to tell yet) it would bring a 3, possibly higher into New Orleans...thats 2 major strikes in 3 years. I dont want to sound offensive to those in New Orleans, but if this is really bad, it may turn out to be quite a debate. Im just talking hypothetically for this situation...not forecasting anything or saying definitely

Ronjon,

Your're right on target. Don't underestimate the power of politics when it comes to predicting hurricanes. By the way, there are other tropical disturbances we should be watching. 95L for example.

Nevermind the NHC...The Weather Channel is talking about the future effects NOLA. Maybe just a little premature?

I watched Dr. Lyons yesterday inform the viewing audience that the track wouldn't change much once it was in the GOM...Wonder if his take has changed since yesterday?

Ratings would be higher to paint another New Orleans doomsday scenario and hypothesize what would happen.

Picking up speed?

Gran Piedra radar seems to hint at this as well...

Putting NOLA on the east side of the storm? When and where will we see this cone?
