That's my question WM.

Something needed to be done (and still needs to be done) when 9/11 occurred - no question about that. At the very least, we need to make sure that the information we base our decisions upon is as accurate as possible.

Widremann...Can I ask you why you have all that German fluff at the bottom of your posts? Just curious, since about 99% of us haven't a clue what it translates to. I won't go as far as to say its anti-American....but it comes very close.

Those faces speak for themselves. WM will beat "we should not have gone to war" quote to death, while all the while having German posted in his sig. It is funny to me. So I should have replied.

We had the information about 9/11, it's just that we get so much other stuff, it wasn't translated until 2 days later.

OK, my opinion here. We had intelligence on Pearl Harbor, but it was basically ignored because it was not verified. There was information on 9/11, but it was not verified. how many times do we have to ensure that information is verified before acting. The gulf war was acted on with information obtained. What might have happened had we waited to verify all intelligence gathered?? We are there, and that is reality, it does no good to say that we shouldn't have gone. its a mute point from this point forward.

Like I said above, we had dam*ing evidence on 9/11, it just wasn't translated fast enough.

The thing is now, in this day and age, anything could be something. They may say something just to screw with the CIA. See my point?

j-

Are you at such a loss for something intelligent to post about the topic that you now have to pick on what someone's signature says? Widreman likes languages - maybe someday he'll translate it for us. Are you really that paranoid about people being anti-American? Have you reported your neighbors yet because I'm sure you've seen them do something or say something "anti-American". I'm going to start to nickname you McCarthy.

awwww...McCarthy. Thank you Steph...I didn't know you cared. I don't take offense to your inference that I'm less than intelligent. I consider myself of average intelligence and the quality of my posts reflect that stature.

BTW....I think you have extrememly intelligent posts.

I do not believe j meant to bash the sig. It is just kind of baffling that he would have a German sig while bashing the war is all. Steph.. I HAVE a neighbor that has an anti-american sign in her front yard. She has become the target of malicious mischief I am sad to say. Have there ever been any arrests? NO!

And I agree that intelligence is VERY important. 9/11 opened ALOT of people's eyes on the CIA and the FBI and their lack of communication. I blame that ALL on the Clinton Administration. He handcuffed both of those agencies as well as loosening security with our borders while trying to target vital navy bases for closure. We learned a very important lesson about ignoring Intelligence whether it may be right or wrong. We just can't take the chances anymore.

As long as WildreMann's signature doesn't translate to "Perry is an inbred, egg-sucking redneck Georgia dog", I have absolutely positively no problem with it :D :D

Excuse me? "We" the people did not elect him. The popular vote was against him, but our less than wonderful electoral college (Obsolete) put him in office.

Don't get me wrong, he was the lesser of the two evils, and I am not saying that I voted for the Dems, but I just wanted to make sure that the right information was passed on.

Yes, according to how we elect officials here in the great United States of America, we the people did elect him.

If our elections were determind by the popular vote only, then campaigns would be run differently. Because of the Electoral College system, Bush/Cheney didn't have all out campaigns in shoe-in states like Texas where it wasn't a practical use of time or money. As everyone knows, Bush could have drawn many more votes in Texas but because the electoral votes weren't in jeopardy, he didn't spend unnecessary time and money just to accumulate more popular votes that would in no way affect the outcome of the election. Campaigns are geared toward the electorial votes, not the popular vote. Gore by comparison could not even carry his own state....where they know him best.
