Well based on the sheer, and the latest models, it is a big possibility that this will take a Fla track, maybe cruise along the coast. Rain and wind, but I am not gonna jump on that band wagon. I would prefer it stay down in Fla, no offense to the Fla people.

Well I know you don't want it to come your way But I hope you have got ready for Hanna. Stay safe.
The news crew here is tell people to keep a eye on Hanna for she Could come our way. we will have her one way or the other which is good. Cause All I want is the rain. Fla can have the wind We take the rain

I shouldn't be concerned about Hanna crossing FL and entering the GOM after having dealt with Gustav yesterday? Hanna is going to go up the east coast right?

Nothing is certain but death and taxes, but Hanna into the GOM seems awfully unlikely.

Ike, now that could be a different story...

Storms in NC,
I lived on the edge of Cape Fear river from 1973 to 1990 & as we know the Cape Fear river is a cane magnet.
Good Luck!
ps: I wish I had cut my 200 acres of trees in Georgetown, SC area last year but no I wanted them to grow some more due to Hugo damage.

Cutting the trees may actually be a bad thing, its like being in betwwen a rock and a hard place.
having a bad Hurricane can blow down trees yes that's bad. but if you had TS sitting over your area Trees will be a good hing, it will keep the area from flooding

huh, send me a link that says having trees significantly reduces flooding, trees help in mountainous area as far as landslides go but this is the first i have heard about flooding, if that's the case my backyard will be looking like a nursery sooner rather than later..pm me that link so it doesnt get caught up in the machine gun fire of posts.

thx,

So probably about 40 or so miles east of my location on the border of Wellington/West Palm Beach (about 10 miles from the ocean)

Do you think watches will go up today for us in Palm Beach and north?

First time that I hear that trees can help to reduce flooding. Can the hypothesis become a theory?

As far as I know, like jlauderdal said, trees help to keep mountains from coming down in landslides, but flooding?

meteorologyman,
A lot of the trees are old grown cypress in the wet areas, Hugo did not hurt them. My fields dry up a lot faster than pine tree/oak areas. Once the ground is saturated, a strong breeze knocks the pines down.

The dynamic model consensus has shifted west and is tightly clustered. What bothers me some is the NW to WNW bend they are starting to show as the Bermuda High builds westward.....

I wonder if this trend will continue?

heading NW towards Central Bahamas at 48 hours. If you compare the 06Z and this run, GFS is slightly west again...

the models say my worst case scenario is unfolding :(

about 20 pages back or so when Hanna was fighting the 1st ULL I gave my worst case scenario as a major Hurricane forming in Bahamas before landfall. I'm not sure it will be major but it still looks strong
