That area is related to a tropical wave moving west but because the convection is of recent formation from overnight there are no signs of a surface low there and also there is an upper low to it's north that may have something to do with the sudden flareup due to some interaction between the 2.
About the potential that ticka is talking about let's wait and see if it survives the graveyard in the eastern caribbean and gets into the western caribbean but for now it is only a normal wave.
