Dvorak 4.0

#7 Postby wxman57 » Fri Jul 18, 2003 1:34 pm

Dvorak still says 4.0 = 65 kts. Wonder why the NHC is so reluctant to upgrade Danny to a hurricane? It's about the best-looking TS possible. Could it be that they initially went for 30kts max, then TS max, and now they're not forecasting it to be a hurricane? Maybe if they turn their heads long enough it'll weaken back to a TS and their forecast will verify?

I believe that with Danny just under hurricane strength... there should at least be a very good circulation left after the storm exits the colder waters that it is now approaching; this being prior to the current prognostications of a southerly movement.

Uh-Oh...this is bad! :o Chances are continually increasing for Danny to complete the Loopdy Loop and potentially come back to hit the U.S East Coast! :o

Exactly right, Chad. There have been systems that have made it as far west as the Unites States. I do not know any off the top of my head.
