Forum load to slow for you??

#1 Postby chadtm80 » Sat Jul 19, 2003 8:05 pm

Well then get rid of dial up and get High speed.. hehehe oh im just kidding dont start throwing the tomatoes just yet :splat:

I set up a new "low graphic" template because we were getting some complaints from a few dial up members that the pages are loading to slow with all the avatars and big signature lines people have... Its a lagit complaint. Some of us ( and I say us as to including myself) have big ole animated Avatars and Big jumping cartoons in our signature lines.. Which is just fine, thats one of the things I like about the board the most.. Adds life to the board IMO... But I can remember back to the dial up days, so i can understand EXACTLY where there coming from... Who the heck cares about graphics and cartoons when it takes 5 min to load a dang page, expecially when the "main" reason you are loading the page is to read the thread, not look at the avatars and such..

To solve this issue for them I have developed a new template called "subrebel" To select it go to profile, scroll down to the bottom of the page and hit the drop down arrow and select "subrebel" under board style. Then hit "Submit" and presto!! You will be using the quickest loading template known to man kind :shocked!: "Whats that there??? is it a bird, is it a plane, no... Its SUBREBEL!!!"
ok ok, so I tend to exagerate a lil  It is the fatest template available on storm2k anyways..

For those of you that this is not an issue for just carry on with buiesness as usuall.. No changes have been made to the other templates... They will run exactly as they have been.. Crazy Graphics and all :D :D

Thanks,
Chad

I have dial-up ****DUCK***** :o

I did switch to "super REBEL"

I really haven't noticed too much of a difference recently with the forum loading - if there's a problem, I blame my provider. It doesn't happen too often though.

Great job Chad....no tomatoes from here though.

My cable modem loads super fast, graphics and all. If I still had dial-up though, I'd probably switch templates.

It's working good for me...except for the long threads with big sigs and stuff...but otherwise it's just fine. :) I should be getting Broadband soon enough though!

the quick reply on this template; other than that it's breaking the speed limit for my DSL modem (I kid  ).
