2008 so far..
Super Tuesday Outbreak - 57 fatalities, 84 tornadoes
May 10-11 Tornado Outbreak - 24 fatalities, about 60 tornadoes
2008 Plains Tornado Sequence - 11 fatalities, 62+ tornadoes
May 1-2 Tornado Outbreak - 6 fatalities, 50 tornadoes
January Tornado Outbreak Sequence - 4 fatalities, 72 tornadoes
Atlanta Tornado Outbreak - 3 fatalities, 29 tornadoes
Looks like May 10-11 and the late May sequence will have to battle it out for second place behind Super Tuesday. May 10-11 killed more, but late May had an EF5, so take your pick.

Major increase to the numbers forthcoming. NWS Dodge City confirmed at least 50 tornadoes (seriously!) in its forecast area on May 23 ALONE!!! The details are still being worked out.

Re: Memorial Day Weekend Outbreak 2008
Major Severe Weather Events May 22nd, 23rd, 25th, and 26th!
...Including the Significant Tornado Outbreak of Friday, May 23rd --
*** UPDATED June 10 ****
There were 50...THAT IS NOT A TYPO...confirmed tornadoes in the Dodge City forecast area on May 23rd alone! A map of those tornadoes will be compiled and posted by the end of the week. There were other tornadoes on the 22nd, 25th and 26th. There were four tornadoes that produced EF3 damage...some long tracked and extremely large (wide). Again, details will be available by the end of the week. Check back often.

That is from the DDC site...Wow
