I thought this thread was about United States Beaches. lol. The Bahamas have the best beaches. When it comes to water, the Hawaiin Island of Maui has the best water. It is so crystal clear you can actually see the white sand on the ocean floor.

Here's a couple more that are "out of the way"....but worth the trip if you love a fantastic beach.

1) Cape San Blas State Park....just west of Apalachicola, Florida. It's located on St. Joseph's peninsula, and there is a great beach...real nice :)

2) Sanibel Island, Florida....I had a blast vacationing there in 1983. I'll never forget the sight of my little sister Becky screaming "bloody murder" when a small lizard ran across her bare foot in a motel parking lot (I swear she jumped five feet straight up! Great beaches and the feel of being in the Caribbean :)

Thank you for the information, Bron. My mother wants to go to Saint Augustine, we may get there some day soon enough... probably by bus... As I have mentioned before, my father doesn't drive to far and my mother and I do not drive.

I suppose either of my two siblings that went to each of the beaches I mentioned above want to go again we may stop there and get some fudge from the specialist candy maker. :)

I'm not a big shore person. Our own Little Pine State Park here in PA has a nice manmade lake with an OK beach (freshwater!) I've been "down the shore" to Wildwood, and and Cape May, NJ. Years and years ago, when I was young and single, I had a memorable visit to the ungurarded beach at Sandy Hook National Park. Back then, that was still an unofficial clothing optional beach. Being young and single, I "blended in."

My two favorite beaches are in Sunset Key, FL (near Key West) and the 7 mile beach in Grand Cayman.

Favorite beach for swimming, Aruba. The sand is white, white, white and water is crystal blue, you can swim without the surf interferring.

Favorite beach for view, Maui. The beaches are a little rough but there is beauty no matter where you look.

Favorite beaches on the East Coast, any beach on the Outer Banks. The sand dunes are amazing. Watch the riptides!!

I have to agree with Perry about New Symrna Beach in Florida. It's so nice and not nearly as over run with tourists as Daytona Beach. I'm not into having 100 people sitting right next to me while I'm trying to enjoy the beach. Another one that I like, even though it isn't the cleanest beach, is Rocky Point in Long Island. It has no sand and is thoroughly rocks. I like it because I've never seen another beach like it.
