Sept 04 during Frances: I think I found the Storm2K link thru the Palm Beach site like so many others searching for the best forum. So glad I did! Thanks for all the info and insight!

Me, too! Man, it was just awful, the trolling and bickering.

I found storm2k during the 2005 Hurricane season. As you can see by my post total I mainly lurk.

Found Storm2K from the old weather.com board - It is a great place to learn, listen & ask questions. People are really
helpful.
I must say though, that the past week or so, it has been
very disturbing to see and read all the bickering going on
here. It takes up important time and space that should
be left for storm information.
We are all here to learn and follow storms in our areas.
Whether we are Pro Mets or just regular "Joe's" - these
storms are important to each of us in our own ways. Like
someone posted in another thread earlier today - if you
don't like a post - skip it !!!

I was looking for HUrricane informationdealing with florida and the Carribbean...also wanted to find some professional meterologists discussing storms behind the curtain. That kind of conversation provides much more information than listening to some random weather dude on tv rereading what the pro's have already hashed out.
So I search google on fl hurricanes, + Professional + Metrologist.
Storm2k was the first choice.
I also run mod/sim on military applications..and wanted to watch an established statistical graphic model work in a multi variant enviroment. Tuning said models is difficult...not to mention a little like black magic to the uninitiated.

I don't remember!!!!! I was lurking at a whole lot of places back then and followed a link here... I think. Pretty sure I was trying to figure out if my aunt in Florida was gonna get smacked by a hurricane Frances I think.
Having relatives in SE FL, NOLA and SE Texas I am pretty much here all season.

Same here. Can't believe how helpful and informative this board has been. Or that I'd get hooked on trying to learn about weather. Who knew?
I'm so grateful for the board and for the ongoing efforts of the moderators to keep it a professional and reliable source of information. Quite a few of the most irresponsible posters from earlier years are no longer here, and I'm very grateful for that. You guys keep a clean house and it's much appreciated.
