Re: SE TX/SW LA weather: Cool front
Another "cool front" has pushed by today her in SE TX. This will make those who are still without power more comfortable. There is talk of highs only in the 70's mid week next week. We shall see.

Looking less and less likely per local TV Mets-still "coolish" in the evenings(high 50's), but pretty much just a tiny bit below normal for this time of year.
On another note,-RAIN-what is that? Only a few drops since Hurricane Ike. Wah!! Wah!!! It is either way too much or not enough it seems. How about some "normalcy" in the weather?? Bringing out the sprinklers to water around the debris piles that will kill my grass soon.

This entire Summer, it was either a tropical system or drought. And it looks to continue. 12Z GFS, no rain for seven days, and barely a trace after...

Front early next week brings our best chance of rain since mid-September.

I'm watching a thunderstorm over the atchafalays basin which is about 35 miles or so from me. The cloud tops are towering over the roof of the house across the street from me. Constant lightning for at least the past 20 minutes. The sky was so lit up. I watched more of the lightning than i did dancing with the starts. Thank goodness i have a dvr!

Re: SE TX/SW LA weather: Rain this week?
Nice round of storms moving through Houston now. 0.57" here at the house. Much needed. Now Ihopefully won't find any leaks due to roof damage from Ike. gotta get that gutter fixed. It just pours water onto the patio it is supposed to keep dry. Thanks Ike.

Re: SE TX/SW LA weather: Rains came, nice rest of week
Wow, we needed the rain badly but I certainly didn't anticipate a falling utility pole, transformers blowing like the 4th of July, no electricity, no water, no cable/internet and of course sprint has a heart failure during all this. Did I mention my generator is in the shop for repairs or the RV was just brought back to the hunting camp or maybe I forgot to add that my daughter in law was sent to the hospital in all this threatening to deliver our very first grandbaby early? LOL...........what a day although my garden did get some much needed water.
