Why would anybody in the right mind buy one of these?
http://www.baskinrobbins.com/Nutrition/ ... s&id=BV228
2,310 calories (970 from fat)
66 and a half teaspoons of sugar
Over 3 days worth of saturated fat
A days worth of Cholesterol
the horrible list goes on.
This one is just as bad.

There should be laws against selling something this poisonous.

Oh man! Ever since I was a kid if someone had oreo cookie shakes I would order one (maybe 3 or 4 times a year max, but never from Baskin Robins). They are my favorite kind. Never ONCE did I think how many cals might be in it though. ECK! I am not an obese woman ATM (and that HAS been a fight due to family genes).
WOW! I guarentee people don't think how many cals are in big shakes... I don't imagine anyone even realises they can have that many. I would of said 300 or 400 maybe 600 at the max.. but 2600!!!!! *chokes*
Now I don't want to know how many cals I inhaled the other day when my lovely 15 year old brought home a big chocolate chip mint shake as a 'present' for Mom. Really I so rarely indulge in these things! From now on I will never be able to enjoy them quite as much.

My thoughts exactly.
My eyes about bugged out when I saw the calorie count and % of fat!
I think the last time I had something like that was about 2 years ago at Dairy Queen on vacation in Sanibel.
Im not a big Ice Cream eater, but like tonight we all had Milkshakes from Wendys compliments of PaPa because the kids
brought home good grades on their progress report. Now I want to go look up the info. on those. LOL.
Those nutritional facts are just INSANE!!!!
EDIT: Just looked up the Frosty info on Wendys site and they are what you would expect
390 Cal.
11 G. fat
...........I still can't believe those shakes have over 2 THOUSAND calories...........

There is nothing wrong with eating this as long as you maintain a balanced diet, it's called personal responsibility. Yeah it's the road to diabetes if this is ALL you eat all day! Stop blaming the companies making this food because your the one who wants to sit on their butt all day and eat the stuff....that's not their problem. It's funny people complain about the government being too involved in people's business and then they turn right around and want certain foods outlawed just because they have no responsibility towards themselves.

I don't think he was serious about making laws against them.
And I agree with you, I don't think theres nothing wrong with eating them either, if thats your cup of tea.
I am just in shock at the amount of Cal. and other junk in there.
I didn't think any single serving of anything had that much crapola in it.

Oh yeah.. I don't think it should be "outlawed" or anything insane like that either. But I am telling you.. I bet you 99 out of 100 people would never guess over 1000 cals in any of those. Really! So they order thinking they are having a special treat not knowing just how bad it is.
I mean you don't have to eat those all day long to have a big impact on the diet. See most people would think once a week is ok for a treat like that because they have no clue (I didn't!). Even once a week a milkshake that is 2600 cals is going to have a HUGE impact on your weight.
It's not always being intentionally irresponsible with their diet.. it just really not knowing. I wish more fast food type places had a nice size chart on their walls with basic info like cals, fat, ect. that is easy to see while waiting in line (I'm seeing this more often). Then people are more likely to make more informed choices.

That's one of those things that you have to have once in a blue moon, but I don't think theres a need to make those shakes THAT bad for you. Wendys doesn't seem to have that problem.
And yes, I was kidding about the outlawing.

Why would anyone in their right mind buy one of these? Because we LOVE ice cream!!!!! I think about ice cream and crave ice cream. I have always loved ice cream. Every time I go to the store I have a war with myself not to buy ice cream and I don't. Maybe two or three times a year I will buy a shake or sundae and get sick as a dog.

Y'all just made me get up and go to the fridge and check the numbers on my favorite....B&J Cherry Garcia....if I ate the entire pint it would be less than 1000 calories.
Upon further investigation I noticed the Heath shake numbers were based on a 2000 calorie diet. At 6' tall and 205 pounds......life wouldn't be worth living on 2000 calories. Heck.....a jug of sweet tea and a plate full of open pit bbq ribs.....I cannot even imagine the calories!
With that said...it should be noted that of the five children my folks had......I'm the only one that has never had a weight issue. I understand that for some this is a serious concern.

Years ago there was a ice cream place called "Greenwood Dairies" and they had 31 flavors I believe. Their special was a "pig's dinner", a scoop of every single flavor and if you could eat all of it you got free ice cream on your next trip and you kept the bib that they gave you!

Why? Because they are good. I wish I had known about these my junior year of college. I had a lost a lot of weight due to stress. I was 128lbs at 6 feet tall. Very skinny for a man. That was when I discovered the joy of peanut butter and honey sandwhiches. I gained about 2 lbs in three weeks.
Of course, now is a totally different story.
I will never get one of those again. 2000+ calories is amazing. WOW!! But, my kids can afford it. It is a nice treat occasionally.

Probably something I would only indulge in if I knew that I only had a few days to live or I knew that I was going to be stranded without food for days on end. Other than that, there is no way I would put that thing anywhere near my mouth. It just is not worth it. I would much rather eat one of their 890 calorie Brownie Sundaes. It would taste just as good, and I would be saving about 1500 calories.
