MIA only got down to 72 deg on 10/2...and 76 deg so far has been low on 10/3.

Interior parts of se fla have seen temps below 70 deg...like your 69.4 deg reading....but there has been no widespread cool down into the 60s at night....yet. Not going to happen in the next week either....forecast low temps are closer to 80 in the days ahead then 70!

Things here are pretty bad. Pouring right now. Heavy thunderstorm. Barely any internet. Half of my house has power, no cable, and no phone.

Sunny partly cloudy skies here this AM. I guess we got a drizzle over night because things were slightly wet this morning. We keep seeming to dodge the rain bullet over the past week. 80* right now.

About the thread title- 'stationary front retrogrades North'.

Isn't a Northward moving stationary front not stationary at all, but a warm front?

AMS Glossary:

quasi-stationary front—(Commonly called stationary front.) A front that is stationary or nearly so.
Conventionally, a front that is moving at a speed less than about five knots is generally considered to be quasi-stationary. In synoptic chart analysis, a quasi-stationary front is one that has not moved appreciably from its position on the last previous synoptic chart (three or six hours before).

This was a 'stationary front' and it took 3-5 days to go from Miami to Tampa (if it made it here).

We are finally getting some heavy rain.
For a good 2 hours before the rain started there was beautiful none stop lightening. Not all of it was hitting the ground alot of horizontal, it was a great show.
Now its just pouring.
