RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 3 INCHES IN ISOLATED LOCATIONS WILL BE
POSSIBLE THROUGH THIS EVENING. SOILS IN THIS AREA ARE
SATURATED...AND THE ADDITIONAL RAIN WILL LEAD TO RAPID FLASH

Waouw what a scenario tonight... Hope the very best for you my carib friends from the north, PR, BVI and the Northeern Leewards islands. Hey Msbee right now you're under an yellow alert for a possible tropical cyclone near your island Wednesday and us in Guadeloupe are in yellow alert for a risk of strong showers and tstorms!
What a day in Guadeloupe awfully rainy rainy,numerous localized floodings, isolated tstorms too have been observed from my eyes, looks like a cyclonic day very grey and dark with continious rain...
The next days does not seems very pleasant for all the Leewards, something to monitor as TD/or Omar could pose a serious direct threat for BVI PR and St Marteen and St Barth too, hope Guadeloupe not, the track is pretty uncertain too.... damn remembered Lenny in 1999
, troubles ahead if this trend continues, we should stay on our GUARD at anytime with this suspicious system!!

Good evening stormcarib friends and beyond!
They were right! The forecasters predicted a very active October. I like to call it RED OCTOBER because we are often embedded in RED during an active system. We are now experiencing the effects of Depression # 15 with very heavy downpours every now and then with the sky remaining gray throughout the day. It is expected to become a Cat 1 hurricane by Wednesday noon when it arrives in our area. Puerto Rico has issued a tropical storm watch and are preparing for the possibility of dealing with a slow-moving storm.
We expect lots more of this during the next days.
I have not heard it as yet, but VITEMA was to issue a statement regarding this storm which is headed in our direction, as opposed to the more westerly direction. We have been prepared all during the Hurricane Season, right? So, all we need do now, is pick up all loose objects from around the house (remove hanging objects like the one in the above photo) and protect all windows with shutters or panels. We have a good 36 hours, however, the bad thing with this storm is that it is moving very slowly. At the moment it is stationary! Heaven help us! That is the worse kind, those slow movers! Let's stop being complacent and pay attention! Watch and pray! God bless us all!

GREAT BAY, St. Maarten (GIS) – Tropical Depression #15 formed on Monday morning 500 miles Southwest of St. Maarten at 11.00am.
Wind speeds are 35 miles per hour gusting to 45 miles per hour. The system is expected to become a Tropical Storm within the next 24 hours and will be named Omar.
Based on the forecast track and intensity at 11.00am on Monday, the system will pass to the West of the island. Weather conditions are expected to deteriorate as the system gets closer to the island.
Tropical storm force winds are expected to blow temporarily over the island, but the main threat is expected to be heavy rainfall starting as early as Tuesday.
Periods of heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected to persist through at least Wednesday.
The Office of Disaster Management & Preparedness (ODMP) is advising the public to monitor the system very closely during the next 24-36 hours and be prepared to exercise a level of caution due to the possibility of localized flooding in low lying areas (for example, Zagersgut, Cul de Sac Basin and Dutch Quarter), known to be prone to flooding, from heavy rains.
Motorists while driving should exercise caution during heavy rainfall.
Residents living in hill side areas should be vigilant for rock falls due to heavy rains.

Hey Msbee right now you're under an yellow alert for a possible tropical cyclone near your island Wednesday and us in Guadeloupe are in yellow alert for a risk of strong showers and tstorms!
What a day in Guadeloupe awfully rainy rainy,numerous localized floodings, isolated tstorms too have been observed from my eyes, looks like a cyclonic day very grey and dark with continious rain...
The next days does not seems very pleasant for all the Leewards, something to monitor as TD/or Omar could pose a serious direct threat for BVI PR and St Marteen and St Barth too, hope Guadeloupe not, the track is pretty uncertain too.... damn remembered Lenny in 1999

ok for the info rain hard, rain has stopped a bit but seems back again, curiously all the convection is developping on the Leewards and at this rate we could have unplesants surprises during the next couple of days already tommorow this thing is incredible ...look at that

I've spent the afternoon and evening sending to as many as I can - on land and on boats - all info (including Jeff Masters wonderfully consise report) concerning 15. Hopefully, it will be overdone, but I'd rather be lambasted for being Chicken Little than asked why the hell I didn't give a heads' up!
