Yeah...looks like Anguilla is going to luck out. Omar is taking the best track possible for least amount of damage. I just read that Dog Island is uninhabited. That is some good news because it looks to take a direct hit.

I hope you are correct! Still have power, this is my first H and it has to be a 3. It is rock and rolling outside right now. My wife went to sleep. I am watching over our concrete house, sipping RUM and really so far great shutters. A jog to the north yes! I have been to dog island, only goats there.

I didn't close the North shutters as I figure we won't get wind from that direction. We need a little air.

That supports 120 kt, although I would go 115 kt to balance out with the SFMR. Still, that is a Cat 4...

My heart goes out to the cruzans. I was living on St. Croix when Hugo came for a visit back in '89. It will take a long time for things to go back to normal after Omar, that's for sure (hello to the Tutain family in C'sted, hope all is well with everyone out there).

Luckily, it appears the worst has passed St. Croix. I hope it isn't too bad there...if there is ANY good news, the track keeps the eyewall out of the islands with population - barely. Any deviation to the right puts the eyewall over Anguilla though.

It means that the radar is having a hard time giving a clear picture of the eyewall. Probably because the convection is so strong (full of rain and hail possibly) that it's partially blocking the radar beam from getting all the way through it.
