Things sure have changed since the beginning and we've grown so much, but not to the point where it doesn't feel like a cozy meeting place. That's one of the best things about this site!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY S2K!!!

I have been part of weather groups that have come and gone. I see others online that claim more members but have far less interaction. People come here because it has had leadership that understands the importance of allowing for our differences yet never forgetting that we should also hold the bar high for ourselves too.
Those who put so much into it can take a lot of pride in what it still represents 6 years later!
Happy Anniversary S2K !

HAPPY BIRTHDAY/ANNIVERSARY S2K!!!!
Here is what the forum looked like 3 days before Miss Mary joined (Feb.12/03): http://web.archive.org/web/200302121714 ... /index.php
That is a bare looking phpbb forum but I like how there was as timer countdown to the season. There was only 20 topics in the 2003 Hurricane Season forum! Yes, still winter but still!
August 2003 looked funky
December 2004 looked like a winter theme

Happy Anniversary Storm2K!

Re: 6th Anniversary of Storm2k
Some of the posters on this board, myself included, originally met on the old Palm Beach Post wx board, which started out all of 12 years ago as "Storm 96". Anyone else here remember that place?

I once had a "Storm 96" baseball cap that the site webmaster sent to me for hosting a moderated "ask the wxman" type webchat that year. Wish I still had it, but I think it got lost in the shuffle when my ex and I moved from the loft into the house we had built in '98.

Re: 6th Anniversary of Storm2k
Storm '96 and Storm '97 is where most of the originals met if I remember correctly Tony. I know I was there and you and many of our early members were there also. I was a thorn in the mods side because of their refusal to do almost any type of moderation there. That is what led to their demise as a viable weather board imo(of course I may be a little prejudiced).
Anyway, back to celebrating STORM2K!!!! Happy Anniversary to us!!

Anyone remember the Weather Channel message boards? Of course you do....he he Many of us migrated from there.
I clicked on the very last page here on the Off Topic forum. Hoping to find a topic someone started (could have been me, can't remember for certain!). We did a simple topic where you stated your screen name, real first name, where you were from, age (if you wanted to disclose that info), and finally who invited you to S2K or where you heard about S2K. That topic grew to multiple pages, it was interesting to read where many of us came from.
Anyway, it's an interesting read if you click back on any OT page in the 400s.
