$500 went into my account today from the Derby Lane Scholarship Still no sign of Bright Futures.

I got my deadline pushed back to the 29th (YAY) because Bright Futures still has not started. Both BF and School scholarships should begin processing on monday or wednesday.

Just a note about my walking total Goal. I have cut it by 20 miles because of the Threat of Fay.

Ive now also decided to cut back 10% on all other exercises. (8/17-12:30a)

As of today, I am the Vice President of Leadership of Phi Theta Kappa-Eta Nu Chapter. I also picked up Junior Achievement Chair position and a trip to UCF for the Leadership Conference. I also have possible trips to Pensacola, Tallahassee, and Dallas in the next 2 semesters. Ill likely not go to Tally and P'cola because of expenses. Dallas is the international convention, so I would really like to go, and it would be my last convention before I leave St. Petersburg College.

I'd just like to let everyone know that my trip to UCF is this weekend. I will be in Orlando Friday afternoon through Sunday morning. Ill be finding out a little bit more about the trip tomorrow. It is the Leadership Conference, so it will be quite interesting. Also since the last update I am in Student Government now. More later...

Found out a bit more about my trip. I will be at a smarter over night hotel (aka Holiday INN Select) near UCF and I will be at the Health and Public affairs building for the conference. I got a bright blue shirt today for our chapter, so ill be wearing that over



Also, I have found out that disbursements have started at SPC (so far only $200).

Sorry I havent updated in a month. Ill try to update with all of the other stuff sometime this weekend, but today is a really big day for me. Just 7 short months ago, I was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa-Eta Nu Chapter. Today I am InductING new members. I am also speaking tonight at the induction, which of course im a tad nervous about. It's just amazing to me that it has only been 7 months, and now I am in a completely different position than I was before. WOW!!!

PHEW!!! It's all over. I was supposed to speak for only 3 minutes, and ended up speaking 7. Other than all of the pre-show chaos, everything went down with out a hitch. I tripped over about 5 greek words, but everyone laughed (as did I) so it was ok. I spoke to over 50 people tonight (my biggest speech so far). All was in great time, and im glad its over (until I do it again in March).

I am back from Pensacola Beach. Got back last night from the 9 hour (with the time change) drive at about 8pm. I was dead in bed by 10pm. lol Ill do a picture/story update later when I have time, and when I am actually awake. My chapter won 12 awards, from 3rd most distinguished chapter in the Florida Region (which also semi-includes the Caribbean), Most Distinguished President, Most Distinguished Officer, and Most Distinguished Member. We also won all three Hallmark Awards (Service, Leadership, and Scholarship). We are also the Leadership Chapter of Florida and I will be hosting the Leadership Conference next September. I say I because I am the Leadership Hallmark Vice President, so much of the responsibility is mine, but Eta Nu will be helping me. Ill post more when I have time, but now I have meeting to go to.

This just came out on YT. Its the new roller coaster being built at Universal to be open in late Spring 09. Other than the scenery, its pretty accurate.
