Good Morning/Afternoon ALL!!

This morning has been full of excitement! I went to my brothers house to feed his dog and was coming home when police cars started flying by me heading east. As I approached our Compass Bank, they had the road blocked and cop cars EVERYWHERE! The bank is being robbed, even as I type!! I styed across the street for about an hour and a half in the Office Depot parking lot watching it unfold. Apparently, the customers in the drive thru were there waiting for the bank to open at 9am and when it didn't, they phone police. The employees cars are in the parking lot and had sounded a silent alarm. The robber or plural must have been waiting for them whe they arrived at work and pushed their way in. News choppers and police choppers are hovering over now, we are waiting for the outcome. I stayed as long as I could but then decided that if this ended bad, it was not a scene that I wanted in my mind. I am praying for the people inside and am very worried. The employees they have there on Saturday mornings are usually the young girls who go to school and only work part time. Say a prayer that God protects them all!

Perry, what a story about your sister!! Talk about wetting pants!! :o :o

Tom, I am glad your dad is okay!! Please keep us posted!

Well, I am going to go check out the tropics and see what my future holds as far as the weather goes! Stay safe everyone and remember, this moment is the ONLY one we are guaranteed, use it wisely!

Keep the prayers coming for this developing situation and I will let you know what transpires!

GulfBreezer, you sure find yourself in some interesting places. Hope all is ok. Didn't see anything on the national news earlier.

Spent the afternoon with friends...time in the pool, plenty of food, laughs, and a few good games of left, right, center (quarters) in the a/c after being in the pool.

One of our friends brought a young HS gal from Marigold, Texas, who is visiting her aunt (our guest) for a while. What a delightful and unassuming young lady! Congratulations, Texas, for giving us such a great impression about your youngens! Polite, intelligent, and full of laughs!

She was certainly not a Dixie Chick!!!

Good mild morning from southern California! :) It is 68.2° under mostly clear skies.

Today I might get a/c put in my bedroom. :D My grandpa is coming at 10 to give me $100 so I can go buy a unit for $85 to put in my window. I can hardly wait. :D :D :D

I am gaining weight  but I think it's a good thing. I think that because I rode my bike for 1 1/2 hours yesterday - yes in the hot sun and with PLENTY of cold water - and we all know that muscle weighs more than fat (which I have plenty to lose).

Work last week was OK. Not as good as the week before but that's OK. At least I have a job to return to on Monday :D .

Have a good (warm) Sunday all. Joshua

well, this week will be beyond the word BUSY! Running around constantly back and forth to Milwaukee (BalloonSat project), then back and forth to Green Bay (UWGB) for class and to take the final exam for MicroEconomics :o (oh boy). I haven't had a chance to pack for Cass Lake and we leave on Saturday. :o Hopefully, I don't have to drive up by myself....it all depends on the BalloonSat project. We are supposed to launch on Friday 25 July in La Crosse, but if the weather does not cooperate, then it will be postponed......which in turn, will postpone my vacation...thus means driving to Cass Lake, MN by myself (10 hour drive). Our Family vacation lasts til August 9th! I get back just in time to attend the Wisconsin Space Grant Conference on the 14th and 15th at UWGB.
This is what I mean: :o :o Remember, consider that I am in Menasha and have to drive down to Milwaukee and to UWGB!!!
Monday: work at Neenah-Menasha Y 9am-7pm
Tuesday: Milwaukee; chat 630pm-8pm for Micro Econ
Wednesday: Milwaukee, class at UWGB
Thursday: Milwaukee, take final exam for Micro, chat 530pm-7pm for Micro
Friday: Launch BalloonSat in La Crosse (Weather Permitting) and have powerpoint presentation completed for WSGC conference in mid-August
Saturday: early am Leave for Cass Lake, MN
Believe me....I will need this vacation!!!

Good Morning!

And a fine one at that.....the fire for all intents and purposes is over with, the rains are kicking in....not as much as I'd like to see but HEY.......I'm NOT complaining one BIT 8-)

I would like to take this time and apologize for my up and downs I've had here over the past month.....there's been a LOT and I do mean a LOT of garbage going on in my life.....the fire, the lack of moisture and numerous other things that don't belong here, ALL of which I have NO CONTROL over, it became overwhelming to say the least, that's ONE thing I've had a problem with over the years, letting things that I have no control over TAKE control over my emotions, I'm not as bad as use to be thanks to my WONDERFUL wife Michelle

ANYWAYS.......life is getting back to normal, back to work today *sigh* "LOL!"

The paper just arrived and I'm in dire needs of another cup O' Joe, make it a GREAT day would yas

Dennis - and I have your name correctly, :-) - you never have to apologize here at Storm2K. You've had lots to deal with. Just read your last post on the fire topic. So glad that's under control. We were keeping the prayers going here for you. And will do so again if need be, for anyone in need. So again - no need to say you're sorry! You needed us, pure and simple.

Morning everyone!

Life is so busy. I thought I needed to check in and say hello. We are hoping for rain here today and maybe that will cool us off. We hit 96º on Saturday and 99º yesterday. The heat index yesterday at 3:00 made it feel like 111º. Eek! :o

Glad to see that the fire situation has gotten better Dennis. I hope everyone else and their families are doing all right!

TTYL... enjoy your week!

Echo Mary's sentiments, Dennis. No need to apologize. Stress and sleep deprivation do suck the life out of us...and sometimes mix all our emotions into one big bowl! We're all just happy that the prospects look better for the firefighters AND the fire.

Garrett..you are flirting with desert temps! We were at 113 again yesterday with dew points in the 50's so it felt very hot..hot..hot!

Thunder but no rain; severe storm warning but no storm. That was last night near my home. Maybe a little better chance of real rain this afternoon. The "official" monsoon season has begun.

Take care and have a good week.

Good Morning!

HoooooDoogies! Now "THAT'S" what I call a storm! Had a cell move through last evening around 1800 hrs that dumped over 1.32" of rain, marble sized hail, wind gusts over 46 MPH........I was talking to Bill (streetsoldier) when this sucker hit, just before I hung up the phone, the hail was about BB size....then in a blink of an eye, marble size. One of the news channels in Phoenix counted over 5000 lightning strokes with this cell! It goes without saying, the Kinishba Fire is all but done, they expect full containment by tomorrow a.m. thanks to this little storm!

Not much else going on....fixing to hit the road and get our work done before another round of boomers come crashing through here!

Make it a great day would ya?

Hello everyone! I thought I would wander in here for the first time in quite a while. Sorry it has been so long. I will try to get in here more often.

Anyways, I had a nice thunderstorm last night - over an inch of rain and quite a lightning show. Looking for more showers and storms over the next few days.

Dennis - I am so glad to hear that the fire is almost under control and than your area is getting much needed rain. Yippee!! 8-)

Garrett - I hope you get some relief from the heat. It felt bad enough around my area yesterday with temps near 90 and very high humidity.

Steve - Hopefully you will get to see some rain today! :)

Shannon - Wow, you definitely need a vacation! :o I hope you are able to go with your family and don't have to make a 10 hour drive by yourself.

Well, gotta get some work done now. To all those gathered at the front porch - have a wondeful Tuesday! :)

Hi everyone, been a really long time since I poked my head in here.

Dennis such wonderful news that the fire is no longer a danger to you and yours, im sure you must be very relieved.

Shannon you take care of yourself girl ;)

Well not much exciting going on with me, being 7 weeks into my pregnancy now has kept me rather near to home (needing to sleep all the time and cope with really bad morning sickness) so no more playing on the jet ski for awhile for me ;) I cant wait untill my second trimester when I should feel like a normal person again.

Well folks take care of yourselves :) :)

Good Evening!

Well.....the boomers they forecasted didn't quite make it today, a few flashes, a few drops......that was it BUT.......the forecast for tomorrow is looking good.

Yes indeed, it's a HUGE relief, not knowing what the heck Ma Nature had up her sleeve was a little nerve racking to say the least! The fire is still crankin but well within the containment lines, they have more less, stood back and have let this fire act as a Control, Prescribed Burn which has REALLY P.O'D a BUNCH of old farts off, the smoke has been BAD the last 2 nights but ya know.........I can Deal with smoke knowing that it's doing a job....AH WELL....can't please all the people all the time, right???

Not much else going on......so until tomorrow, "May The Good Lord Bless and Keep You, I'll leave the light on!"

Wind, but no rain last night...tonight a gorgeous sunset with bright orange mammatus to the east, but no rain either. We will get a taste of it before long. Ma Nature has a mind of her own, as you just found out with that fire, Dennis.

Before long, TWC will be showing video of the Indian Bend wash in Scottsdale under water and talking about all the rain!

John...good to see you again. Pennsylvania has such wonderful weather folks...you included!

Enjoy your Wednesday!

Amanzi...had to re-read your message. For a moment I pictured you in your second or third trimester buzzing by the bay on a jet ski! If that happens, a new photo of that event will get lots of attention on your cloud photo page.

Hello everyone. I see that a bit more activity took place on the "Front Porch" on Tuesday. :D

I spent my Tuesday with my aunt (mother's sister), uncle (her husband) and my cousing (their 14 year old [adopted] son) at Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom. We left around 7:30 AM Eastern and returned just a few minutes after Midnight Eastern, this morning.

While we were at Epcot, literally seconds after buying some ice cream from one of the vendors, a heavy rain slowly moved through; it lasted for a good ten to fifteen minutes. The rain slowed down twice during the duration of the event. The initial downpour was the most impressive. There were some rumbles of thunder.

Good Morning!

Woke up to a nice surpize, I had .15" of rain sometime early this morning! We sleep with a window box fan going all night long, yes.....I "LOVE" to sleep in a *icebox* "LOL!" Anyways, didn't hear it so I have no idea when it came through, I pulled up the radar and sure 'nuff....there it was heading NW!

Amanzi.........I'm sorry to hear about your morning sickness, poor thing but just think, it won't be long and you'll have another bundle of joy! Geeesh.......I don't know if I could handle another baby *shudders* I mean, Chris will be 20 yrs old this year, seems only like yesterday the 2 a.m. feedings, the diaper changes were calling *REALLY shudders* "LOL!"

Tom..what a wonderful way to spend your day, ya know.......I've never been to DisneyLand let alone DisneyWorld.......yup, I've lead a very sheltered life!

Hi John....glad to have ya back!

Jeremy.......hows things?

Well folks, gotta scoot, another fun filled day in paradise!

WELL, WELL, WELL!!! Must be old home week. I too have decided to poke my head in and say HOWDY!!! I've been somewhat consumed over at the Tropics forum, to say the least. Since it is "slow" for the moment thought I better reintroduce myself.

Pojo, SLOW DOWN!!!! You're still making me tired!!!

Dennis, you know the prayers are always forthcoming! And as all have said, forget the apologies, none needed!!!! We all have stressful times in our lives that can overwhelm us.

Tom, I AM JEALOUS!!! I haven't been to Disneyworld since the year it opened!!! Call me next time and we can go on the rides together!!!hehehehe    I have had the fortune of having been to both Disneyland and Disneyworld. Still a kid at heart I want to go back to both!!! :o :P

Amanzi!!! CRACKERS!! CRACKERS!! CRACKERS!!! My wife kept crackers at the bedside through the first trimester of both her pregnancies. Otherwise, it was...well you know. :o

Garrett. are you sure you aren't in Houston??? Sounds like our heat indices for the last 2 days. It's cloudy today so we may have some showers to keep it cool.

Steve, we raise nothing but the best in Texas!!! The Dixie Chicks are not claimed by Texas anymore!!!!

Well I better do something besides post here all day, so I'll check ya'll later!!! I promise to come by the porch more often, especially since the tree trimmers for the power company took away most of our shade yesterday while trimming the trees away from the power lines!

Afternoon peeps

Good to hear you are getting some much needed rain Dennis! Lol... guess you dont envy me all the diapers and sleep deprivation, I must be making up for it now though cause all I seem to do is sleep.

LOL Steve... I get the mental picture too, and its not a pretty sight.. big fat lady in a bikini :o:

Tom I have been to all the Disney parks, and every time we have been down there we have been in a down pour, it was actuallly quite welcome though, to cool us off in the heat. I dont think I will be doing a Disney in the middle of summer again for a LONG time.

Enjoy church Jeremy :)

David, Ive tried everything under the sun!!!!!!! Nothing seems to help.. oh well im hoping it will be gone soon!

Blessings to all
