Rotator Cuff issues

After several weeks of shoulder pain I finally made it to the doc yesterday where told me its my rotator cuff. He didnt mentioned if its torn or strained or what. I will need to see an orthopedic specialist soon.

Over the summer I became quite ill and had to be hospitalized. Im seeing WAYYY too much of doctors and hospitals and its getting old.

George, I feel your pain (literally!). Getting old stinks, but it sure beats the alternative.

I'm glad that you finally saw a doctor about that.

Going to the doctor comes in waves, it seems and especially as you get older. I have a Flexible Spending Account through work that I can save money in it pretax. You can use it on co-payments, deductibles, prescriptions, OTC health items, etc. Mine was used up by the first quarter, but that was mainly due to having 2 MRI brain scans to rule out an aneurysm. My mother had a brain aneurysm two years ago and my brothers and I were encouraged to have this done to rule out that this was a hereditary thing.

I hope that next year you will be doctor-free George!

Yeah, getting old sucks doesn't it george?

My husband had rotator cuff surgery almost 2 years ago. I hope you don't have to have that. It's one of the most painful surgeries. Unfortunately for my husband, his rc was completely torn off. We had to buy a recliner so he could sleep at night. His ortho surgeon recommended that. Then there was the months of physical therapy.

The doc that did the initial exam said that since I still have full range of motion and near normal strength the injury may not be that bad.

George I had similar problems a couple of years ago and some cortizone shots took care of mine. The shots down in the joint weren't fun but a lot better than surgery. Good luck and keep us posted.
