I got the go ahead from family members to make this dish - LOL!

I now just have to find time to grocery shop - today. Not the day before Thanksgiving - that's just crazy thinking....LOL Although I am off work tomorrow and could go at 7 am. If I wanted to.....LOL

All in all I'm getting off so easy this Thanksgiving. I'm to bring 3 items - the veg sidedish, pumpkin bars my daughter makes (delicious dessert) and a bottle of wine. I was at Trader Joe's yesterday and they were featuring a bottle of wine for $3.67! The sign said - goes great with turkey. Well, I would have bought if for us.....but I knew I couldn't show up with it at a family dinner......LOL Hey, I know when not to push it!

Thanks again for the recipe.

Spinach casserole done - tripled and cooling in the fridge. I will bake it before I take it to my SIL's house. I did taste the sauce and it's so good!

Hoping this is a big hit.......

I just now need to wake up my college aged daughter so she can make her pumpkin bars from scratch. She won't jump into the recipe right away - oh no, she'll eat breakfast, play Guitar hero, etc. I'm guessing she won't even begin baking these babies until 1 o'clock. Oh the laid back life of a college freshman.....she went to a party last night too. LOL

I've been up since 6 am!

I'm glad that you found something different to make Miss Mary. I'd love to hear how the family received it.

I will say that I'm going to sign up for appetizers or a salad for xmas. LOL

Taking a veggie side dish to someone's very busy kitchen and stove area is not ideal. My SIL hadn't even started peeling the potatoes until an hour before we sat down to eat! I would have had those potatoes peeled, quartered, simmering in water. But anyway, she was very busy and I knew I had to do most of the cooking here at home. She even put my casserole out on her counter, where she sets up a buffet line. Then later she popped it back into the oven. Everyone is different when entertaining, this I know but I knew I had to make it easy on her.

The general consensus was the adults liked it, the ones 24 and younger wanted no part of it!

I should have said it was chopped broccoli!

The minute you say - spinach - you almost clear the room!

I love spinach, so I would've tried it.

It is really difficult when you have one stove and many hands that want to help. Fortunately this year, Marty and I wasn't shoving each other out of the way. He likes to take control of everything and I pretty much want to stab him before the dinner is even served (J/K!!)! LOL! He let me do what I needed to do and he carved the turkey.

I did bake the rolls in the morning and threw them in the oven to warm up just before we sat down to eat.
