India, Pakistan simmer over Mumbai attacks

A tenth militant caught alive told interrogators they wanted to be remembered for an Indian version of the September 11, 2001, attacks on the United States, Times Now TV said, quoting an unidentified Defense Ministry official.

This is really horrible! This could India's deadliest terrorist attack. I would not be surprised if Al-Qaeda is somehow involved.

Things are heating up between India and Pakistan:

The fallout from the attacks is damaging the tenuous relationship between India and Pakistan, said CNN's sister station in India, CNN-IBN.

The Indian government is considering suspending the five-year-old cease-fire with Pakistan and perhaps even ending the dialogue process with the country, sources told CNN-IBN.

Pakistani security officials told CNN that if tensions with India escalate, Pakistan may shift its military forces from the Afghan border east to prepare for any conflict.

From what I've read, India has superior conventional and nuclear forces. It might be time to destroy Pakistan as a base for Islamic terrorism once and for all, or at least blockade Pakistani ports, and selectively target ISI facilities in Pakistan.

Islam recognizes only force. See Osama bin Laden's "strong horse" theory. Restraint is seen as weakness. There is no Christian or Gandhian concept of "turn the other cheek".

If India does nothing, there will be more attacks.

An Israel Air Force plane carrying the remains of six Israelis and Jews who were killed in the attack on the Chabad House in Mumbai last week landed at Ben Gurion Airport late Monday night.

In Mumbai on Monday, Israel's ambassador to India, Mark Sofer, addressed the congregation at the Mumbai ceremony. However, all eyes and cameras were on Moshe, who was spirited out of the besieged Chabad House at the start of the rampage. Moshe sat on the lap of an Indian worker at Chabad House, Zaki Hussein, who was one of the two Indians who got the toddler out of the house. Reports detailed how Moshe's Nanny, Sandra Samuel, held on to Moshe as Hussein stood on the steps of the house so the terrorists would not see them.

Samuel did not take part in the ceremony since she was busy applying for her first passport, after the Israel Foreign Ministry gave her permission to come to Israel with the Rosenbergs.

A few times during the ceremony at the synagoguge Moshe called for Sandra while his grandmother calmed him with a bottle of water and a piece of candy. When the time came for the last speaker, Rabbi Itzhak Yeruslavsky, a Chabad leader from Israel, Moshe started crying and calling out "Mommy, Mommy." He refused to be consoled and was finally taken outside.

In a voice choked with sobs, Rivka's father, Shimon Rosenberg, who is the Chabad rabbi of Afula, said: "The Lord gave, the Lord took away, blessed be the name of the Lord,"

Security officials told the network that the location of the bomb at the station, formerly known as Victoria Terminus, was provided by Mohammed Ajmal Kasab, 21, who is in police custody and who has been identified as the only surviving gunman.

The officials said the explosive device was made from RDX, a powerful explosive. Four other RDX bombs planted during the well-coordinated attacks have also been defused and police believe there are no more, the officials said.

People may think it was terrible that the mastermind of the 9-11 attacks, Khalid Sheik Mohammad, was waterboarded to force him to give up details on planned terror attacks that probably saved American lives, but I'd prefer live Americans to comfortable terrorists, and I have no problems with whatever means of interrogation the Indian military needed to get the information that saved probably one hundred or more Indian lives.

Seems more likely to me that the terrorist was trained to SAY he was trained by Pakistan's Navy.

The purpose of terrorism is to influence government policy through violence as opposed to politics. While the immediate goal here might have been simply to kill as many "infidels" as possible....don't you think the ultimate goal would be the instigation of a nuclear war?

This inflammatory rhetoric between Pakistan and India is playing right into global Islamofascism's plans in my opinion.

On the other hand, you're right- there will be more attacks if India doesn't attack Pakistan....these b****ds have been trying to start the ultimate war for over a decade if you haven't been paying attention. The attacks will only get more and more atrocious until they get what they want. That's why the only thing India can do is get serious about their homeland security measures. The onus is on Pakistan to do whatever it takes to destroy the terrorists within their own borders....on their own. Indian involvement can only destabilize a very unstable relationship between those two nuclear-armed nations.

Watch how quickly it all hits the fan worldwide once the first nuclear attack since 1945 is launched. The goal here was not simply the murder of 200 (or even 5,000) innocent people. The goal of Islamic Extremism is Armageddon. We must destroy them, but we can't afford to make any mistakes.
