Check this slide show out!!! MEMPHIS GOT SLAMMED!!!! I've seen less damage in a Hurricane!

Very impressive event in the Memphis area on July 22nd. Anxious to see what Memphis, TN discussion on the event, which quite likely looks like a derecho ...

Unfortuntately, two persons will killed in the event, and with that kind of damage in those pictures, fortunately, there wasn't more ...

Amazing pics! That is a lot of damage and it is a miracle more people weren't killed.

I can't tell the severity by looking at the radar. I wouldn't know to take cover if I saw that on radar. I would just think some strong thunderstorms were coming. What am I missing?

WoW! Impressive to say the least.............Thanks for posting this VB...............Those pics looks alot like the kinda damage seen around here a couple of week ago...............Oddly though with all the trees that fell i didnt see or hear of any hitting any houses! Some landed on some cars but that was about it...............And thankfully nobody that i know of was killed here in this part of Ohio with them storms.................Thankfully things have quieted down a bit...........

SG, on that radar, the way the oranges/red were clustered together and consolidating were the only thing that I could see, otherwise, there wasn't anything else that was obvious about it ...

For obvious reasons, it is prudent to take the warnings seriously.

Thanks SF. Yeah, I always pay close attention to watches/warnings. I'm assuming they had warning in Memphis.

The damage to that house looks borderline F2/F3. I'm wondering what kind of straight line winds could have done that. Like you said, SF, it will be interesting to read the discussion.
