I remember the La 1989 well. I was working when it started. I was actually driving back from the post office when the freezing rain started. Then it started sleeting, and then later on snowing. Normally it took me 10 mins to drive home, but that day it took 3 hours due to the ice on the roads. Cajuns ain't used to ice on the roads.
