Re: Snowless in Denver and ENSO thoughts.
QPF getting lower with each run of GFS and NAM. NWS reduced pops for thursday. This is getting depressing...November 25th already and only about 1.5 measly inches of snow....we should be around 12 or so by now. Both of my past 2 winters here featured much snowier decembers than Novembers. In fact Nov of 2006, 2007 both were below normal for precip, while december 2006 and 2007 were some of denvers snowiest decembers on record. And on average November should be snowier than December. so who knows. Averages are just that.

Yes, this had me excited earlier on, but now looks like a weaker event. I read on 9news that mets are expecting this season to be mid winter loaded for storms. Let's hope their right. One of the weakest Novembers on record. Supposed to be our second snowiest month.

I know! It was so pretty this morning. It actually felt seasonal and all with me putting my tree up last night and whatnot. Hopefully we get more tonight.

6" on the backyard tables and still coming down. Nice surprise this morning!
Plus now a 30% chance of snow on Tuesday night / Wednesday. That's basically what this storm was 3 days ago.

I didn't get anything up here in Broomfield last night. Seems we were in the dry pocket. Nice band set up last night SE of downtown, and looks to have stayed there.

You must not be in Downtown DENCOLO because I have maybe 1/2inch from this one. Most of my snow from yesterday melted as my property has very little shade or area that isnt exposed to southern sun.

Still coming down decently and up to about 9" right now. I am SW of town just to the west of Columbine HS. This was just a tad more that the 1"-3" expected! I'll take it! Other amazing thing - this is the most acculating snow I've seen since last Christmas, and we weren't even in a Winter Weather Advisory!

Ended up getting 9" of snow from the event in Littleton. 9news said littleton got 10.5". 15 miles sw of downtown made a huge difference due to the upslope from north winds.
I have never received that much snow without warning. I mean, not Even a winter weather advisory? In Dallas, we used to get wwa's if there was a 20% chance of flurries!

That was a rather peculiar storm. Actually I think upslope was probably the least of it. If upslope had been that great all or most of the southwest, southern and southeastern burbs would have gotten it. Heck even some of the high foothill locations such as castle rock, idaho springs and evergreen didnt come close to 10 inches. Most of that snow had to have been pure luck convective activity. Last year a convective burst dropped 3 inches in downtown in about an hour and yet typical high snow total areas in the metro got a dusting. It is indeed a RARE event for any metro location(inside the 470 loop) to get more snow than the foothill locations. Snow totals seem to be about luck around here absent a major upslope low pressure system in the southeastern plains. Enjoy your 9 inches my friend...my measly 3 is already gone

Woke up to 3" here this AM, and the real snow isn't supposed to start till this afternoon.... Gorgeous outside.. Minus the part where the girlfriend decided today was a good day to drive my 08 STI to work, and curbed it after I told her it doesn't have tires on it at all meant for snow.. Ughhh.

Re: Snowless in Denver and ENSO thoughts.
After a nice 3-4 inch snowfall here in Denver yesterday temp dropped to 5 above zero at my house. long range GFS looks fairly cold for the period and CPC is calling for below normal temps, above normal precip through the next 2 weeks...come on White Christmas!

Looks like we could pick up a few more Tues/Tues night...
Other than that, the GFS has dropped off a few of the other longer range storms.. It was looking like the end of next week could really be interesting, but that seems to have gone away..

Forecasting 4-7" tomorrow and tomorrow night.. Great looking dynamics over the area.. Next Sat/Sun/Mon could be great too, as they've started to mention the possibility of an impressive storm/arctic outbreak.
