For all those who have mistakenly idolized him, and for those abusive types who have been inspired to inflict harm by his "not guilty" of murder verdict, and their victims, I'm relieved he is finally being justly punished for at least one of his actions.
There's only one problem here. He isn't guilty.
Famous Texan private detective Bill Dear was quietly investigating this case in the background and came up with some explosive evidence. OJ didn't kill Nicole and Ron Goldman his son Jason did.
Jason was a chef and was going to cook for OJ and the family at the 'Jackson' restaurant that evening after the recital OJ attended where his daughter performed. Jason contacted Nicole to find out what they might like to eat and she canceled saying the restaurant was too far across town and with the recital and everything the kids would be restless. Jason was from OJ's first marriage and took it personally. He saw it as a message of sorts of where he fit in or didn't fit in with the LA family. Jason got off work early and headed over to Nicole's where he confronted her. An argument must have ensued where Jason snapped.
At this point you have to know that Jason had serious anger management issues and had a record of violence towards girlfriends and other rage problems. A quick look at his background would show him to be a much better candidate for violence than OJ. He was also trained in hand to hand knife combat in the Navy. Jason was on anti-rage medication up until a week before the murder. He had told his girlfriend he stopped taking the medication because it made him sick.
Bill Dear provides a large body of evidence I'll spare you of here. We'll get right to the chase. A black watchcap was found next to Ron Goldman's body that OJ's lawyers showed-off in court as obviously not fitting OJ. They were right - it didn't fit him. It was Jason's. Before moving to Miami to be closer to his father Jason put a box of personal belongings in a storage facility in Los Angeles. He didn't pay the bill so it was auctioned off. Dear had been tracking Jason so he managed to purchase the box after the original buyer tipped him off. Inside were several photos of Jason wearing an identical black watchcap. The photos were time-stamped. Jason is seen in the cap up to the date of the murder. All subsequent pictures of him wearing a watchcap after the date of the murder show him in another gray watchcap. Nowhere after the date of the murder is Jason seen wearing a black watchcap. The box also contained a knife.
Jason lost it and hit Nicole with the knife handle butt. The evidence shows this wound. She was partially knocked-out when Ron Goldman had the bad luck of showing up and confronting Jason. This only further enraged Jason because, while already in rage mode, he now saw Goldman as the reason Nicole didn't show up. Afterwards, Dear thinks Jason realized what he had done and called OJ and OJ sped down to the scene. The reason OJ was tainted with so much evidence was because he was there. Only later
after the killing was done. He saw the horror and dropped his glove. OJ was caught in a dilemma because he knew his disturbed son had done the murders but couldn't be witness against him. The rest you already know...
Dear brought his evidence to the LA District Attorney and they told him the case was closed.
