Hey guys,
Jeff Berardelli here...
About two years ago I had a light bulb moment and realized what my TV station website really needed was a zoom-able radar like we had in the weather center. At the time no one had it (not the weather channel, Intellicast, anyone!). So with limited computer knowledge I decided to do this myself... And about 6 months ago I finished!
Check out my site today during the big winter storm. Tell me what you think! And check back when you need to.
***One note*** the map defaults to Miami Nexrad (because I live in Miami)... you must select "NATIONAL" in the radar options menu to see the US radar! When severe warnings pop-up you will see them as well.
ZoomRadar.com
Thanks all,
Jeff

The slow loading JavaScript version of the NWS radar allows clicking and zooming.
Example http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid=lzk&overlays=11101111&product=N0R&loop=yes
Especially useful in radial velocity mode, when looking for where rotation in a storm is. But it loads so slowly, I usually use the "basic" NWS version, which is not zoom-able.
Can click to zoom in, right click to zoom out.
I may check the ZoomRadar page to see if it has extra whistles.

The loop load time with zoomradar is much better!
