What are you watching this Spring?

Another Thursday night surprise - ER rocked!
I honestly thought by the time ER reached its final season I'd know it was time and would be ready to say good-bye to County General. But they keep introducing new docs you end up caring about and writing excellent episodes!
So I'm going to be sad when it does end.....
And if anyone used to watch ER in the early days, Jerry's back!

NBC scored a 10.1 rating/16 share for the night, narrowly beating CBS' 9.6/15 (both networks had live sports in primetime, so their numbers will probably change some). ABC finished a distant third at 4.6/7. FOX took fourth with a 2.9/5, while The CW managed only a 0.7/1.
NBC's lead among adults 18-49 was a little wider. It averaged a 6.2 rating in the key demographic, compared to 4.9 for second-place CBS. ABC, 2.3, came in third, followed by FOX, 2.1, and The CW, 0.4.
Late-afternoon NFL games and "60 Minutes" combined for a 13.7/22 at 7 p.m. "Football Night in America," 5.1/8, put NBC in second. ABC got a 4.7/8 from "America's Funniest Home Videos." A pair of "King of the Hill" reruns averaged 2.4/4 for FOX. The CW aired a "Jericho" repeat.
NBC's "Sunday Night Football," featuring the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants, scored a 10.8/17 at 8 p.m. The conclusion of "60 Minutes" and the "Survivor: Gabon" finale drew a 9.6/15 for CBS. The movie "The Santa Clause," 4.2/6, kept ABC in third, ahead of reruns of "The Simpsons," 3.4/5, and "King of the Hill," 2.8/4, on FOX. The CW went with a showing of the movie "Spaceballs."
The Cowboys-Giants game improved to 12.6/19 for NBC at 9 p.m. "Survivor: Gabon" dipped to 7.8/12 on CBS, while ABC's movie rose to 5.5/8 in its second hour. "Family Guy," 3.5/5, and "American Dad," 3.0/5, kept FOX ahead of "Spaceballs" on The CW.
At 10 p.m., "Sunday Night Football" scored a 12.0/19 to keep NBC in the lead. The "Survivor" finale and the reunion show averaged 7.6/12 for CBS, while a "Desperate Housewives" rerun on ABC earned a 3.8/6.

Re: What are you watching this Fall?
A group of more than 130 well-known actors, including Oscar winners George Clooney, Tom Hanks, Kevin Spacey, Sally Field, Helen Hunt, Charlize Theron and Morgan Freeman, have sent a petition to SAG national president Alan Rosenberg, national executive director Doug Allen and other guild leaders, asking them to cancel the strike-authorization vote.
The letter is the latest salvo in a relentless PR battle being fought on three fronts: Rosenberg, Allen and the negotiating committee, which favor strike authorization as a negotiating tool; guild moderates who object to SAG leadership's handling of negotiations and its efforts to thwart AFTRA's contract earlier this year; and the AMPTP, which has negotiated six agreements with Hollywood unions and is anxiously awaiting the guild to be the seventh.
Perhaps most troubling for Rosenberg has been the fight he has received from his own union. On Friday, the New York board sent a statement calling for the strike-authorization vote to stop and for the national negotiating committee to be dissolved, among other things. Rosenberg was irate, saying in a response later that day, "This action encourages and emboldens the AMPTP and seriously harms SAG members throughout the country."
He called for a face-to-face emergency national board meeting for this Friday, then rescinded it when a prominent board member informed him a face-to-face meeting is unconstitutional, according to another national board member. Last week, at a national executive committee meeting, conducted via video conference, the New York and regional members walked out after Rosenberg twice interrupted a New York member who was trying to speak, according to two people who were present. The walkout effectively canceled the NEC meeting because there was no longer a quorum.

I doubt seriously the vote will pass if it even happens, so I'm not expecting an actors strike anytime soon.

Many of the shows you mentioned we watched last night!
Chuck (Sarah broke Chuck's heart)
Big Bang (hilarious from start to finish)
How I Met Your Mother (I think we need to stop looking for the mother because, well Ted's like the mother of this group, already!!!)
Two and a Half Men (one word - Rose!)
Funniest of all of them - Big Bang! Penny's Christmas gift to Sheldon was a cloth napkin autographed by Leonard Nimoy! His reaction to this one of a kind gift was, well.....to borrow from another show up above.....wait for it - priceless!

SAG Holds Off on Strike Vote
Ballots delayed until at least after a special board meeting
December 23, 2008
Rocked by growing internal dissent that is splintering Hollywood's largest union, the Screen Actors Guild has postponed plans for a controversial strike authorization vote until after the union's national board meets to discuss the matter.
The union's 120,000 members were poised to vote on the planned strike referendum next month, with ballots going out Jan. 2.
But in an e-mail to the union's board members Monday night, SAG Executive Director Doug Allen said he and SAG President Alan Rosenberg agreed to push back the strike referendum until after the board convenes a special meeting Jan. 12 to "address the unfortunate division and restore consensus."

I'll start posting the daily ratings again January 5th. Until then nothing big is on with a lot of repeats, specials, and low ratings due to the holidays.

Anyone who's been an ER fan from the beginning but might have dropped away, they are cranking out excellent ER episodes these last remaining months......many old familiar faces have turned up too! So check it out......
And oh yeah, thanks for the reminder Brent, Desperate Housewives on Sundays....

TV Ratings: Wild Card a Big Draw for FOX
NFL playoff game scores Sunday, 'Superstars of Dance' starts OK
January 5, 2009
Fast National ratings for Sunday, Jan. 4, 2008
NBC got OK ratings for the premiere of "Superstars of Dance" Sunday, but an NFL playoff game gave FOX the night's biggest audience.
CBS and FOX each drew a 7.2 rating/11 share among households, but FOX had about a million more viewers in primetime (because of the live NFL broadcast, FOX's numbers should change some). ABC took third with a 6.4/10, followed by NBC at 4.7/7. The CW managed only a 0.8/1.
FOX also led among adults 18-49 with a 4.6 rating. ABC finished second in the demographic with a 3.5. NBC's 2.7 was good for third. CBS averaged 2.3 and The CW 0.3.
The closing minutes of an NFL wild-card game and the post-game show scored a 14.3/22 for FOX at 7 p.m. CBS earned an 8.1/13 with "60 Minutes." ABC took third with "America's Funniest Home Videos," 4.2/7. The special "Saturday Night Live Sports Extra" put NBC in fourth, still well ahead of "Jericho" on The CW.
CBS led in households at 8 p.m. with "Million Dollar Password" (6.8/10), but ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" (6.4/10) had more viewers. FOX got a 4.5/7 from a re-airing of the movie "24: Redemption." NBC's "SNL" special earned a 3.9/6. The CW aired the movie "Trail of the Pink Panther."
"Desperate Housewives," 8.8/13, moved ABC on top at 9 p.m. "Cold Case" delivered a 7.9/12 for CBS. The premiere of "Superstars of Dance" scored a 6.3/9 for NBC. FOX remained in fourth with "24: Redemption," 3.0/5. "Trail of the Pink Panther" concluded on The CW.
At 10 p.m., "Superstars of Dance" posted a 6.1/10, tying "The Unit" on CBS for the lead in households and leading in total viewers. "Brothers & Sisters" drew a 5.9/10 for ABC.

'Bachelor,' 'True Beauty' have so-so starts for ABC
January 7, 2009

FOX's coverage of the Fiesta Bowl trumped everything else on TV Monday, giving the network an easy ratings win.
FOX averaged a 9.7 rating/15 share in primetime (through 10 p.m.; ratings for the 10 p.m. hour weren't available). CBS finished a distant second at 5.9/9, beating out ABC's 5.6/8. NBC averaged 4.9/7 and The CW 2.0/3.

Reruns of "The Big Bang Theory" and "How I Met Your Mother" were fourth for CBS, while the return of "Gossip Girl" scored a 2.1/3 for The CW.

The CW's "One Tree Hill" fell off slightly from its lead-in.
The Fiesta Bowl likely held the lead for FOX at 10 p.m., though exact numbers weren't available. A "CSI: Miami" rerun, 6.8/10, on CBS was the best of the rest. The premiere of "True Beauty" on ABC scored a 5.1/8, beating the 3.4/6 for "Momma's Boys" on NBC.

BCS title game draws 24 million viewers
January 9, 2009
Fast National ratings for Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009
College football's championship game blitzed everything in its path Thursday, carrying FOX to a sizable ratings victory.
FOX averaged a 14.1 rating/21 share and a little over 24 million viewers in primetime, up a bit from last year's title game (the numbers will likely change some because of the live telecast). ABC was the best of the rest at 6.7/10. CBS, 6.0/9, came in third. NBC's 3.7/6 was good for fourth, and The CW trailed with a 1.4/2.
FOX also dominated the adults 18-49 demographic with an 8.4 rating. ABC, 3.6, took second. CBS and NBC tied for third at 2.2, and The CW came in at 0.8.
The BCS title game between Florida and Oklahoma drew a 13.9/22 at 8 p.m. A "CSI: NY" rerun, 5.7/9, put CBS in second, ahead of "Ugly Betty," 5.0/8, on ABC. "My Name Is Earl," 3.5/6, and "Kath & Kim," 2.7/4, finished fourth for NBC. The CW went with a "Smallville" rerun.
FOX peaked in the 9 p.m. hour with a 14.4/21 for the Gators-Sooners matchup. ABC moved up to second with "Grey's Anatomy," 8.9/13. A "CSI" repeat took third for CBS, while an "Office" rerun, 3.0/4, and "30 Rock," 3.4/5, kept NBC in fourth. "Supernatural" scored a 1.3/2 for The CW.
The Florida-Oklahoma game dipped a little to 14.3/23 at 10 p.m. but still had a healthy lead. "Private Practice" earned a 6.0/10 for ABC in its new timeslot. "Eleventh Hour" posted a 5.2/8 for CBS, edging the 4.9/8 for "ER" on NBC.

Busy night of TV tonight:
ABC is all-new, including Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters
24 has it's season premiere
NBC has the Golden Globes, which are back in full after a pretty much canceled event last year due to the strike.
and CBS is also new following the football game with 60 Minutes at 8 and then Cold Case/The Unit.
