Anybody else avoiding the "Looking Back" articles?

#1 Postby DanKellFla » Thu Dec 25, 2008 6:14 pm

No way am I going to read a "Year in Review" article this year. Is anybody else going to skip those. This year has been BY FAR the most *blanked* up year that I have lived through. At least I am greatful that my family and I have done OK.

For my personal life, 2008 has actually been pretty good....but I can understand why everybody in SE Texas and SW Louisiana.....SW China, Burma, Mumbai, Caucasian Georgia, Cuba, or the stock markets are counting down the days until 2009.

Worldwide, 2005 was pretty horrific as well.

2008 will be the year that Ike came. Also, 2005 and 2001 was bad as well. 2005 because of Katrina, Rita, and Wilma and 2001 because of 9/11.

I'll never forget 2008. This is the year my wife of 27 years survived breast cancer. A year filled with tremendous physical struggle. Emotional ups and downs. I've lost friends, made new friends. Went broke. Filed Chapter 13. I cannot help but look back. Kind of like trying to bury 1970-72.

I'm still reading them. There's been so much that has happened this year that I'm stumbling over things that I've forgotten about. They seem like eons ago.

Not me, I'm enjoying them. Especially one very important aspect of this past year!
