What are you watching this Spring?

Hey Desperate Housewives fans......they're re-airing last week's episode, at 10 pm tonight. Instead of 9. It was their 100th episode. A really change of pace type episode if you ask me. Definitely worth watching in case you missed it or want to watch it again. They introduced a character who was supposed to be in back storylines all along, even before the show began - a very kind neighborhood handyman. So they flashed back to before the show started, to 5 years ago, to where that last season ended - are you with me still? LOL - and to the present, approx. 2014. How he impacted all of their lives, for the better. It was just a really clever and poignant episode!

I loved the episode. The end was really sad when we saw the day Mary Alice killed herself and Eli stressing over not doing anything about it.

I was watching TLC's A Duggar Wedding. You know the family...a huge family, she just keeps spitting out those kids...18 of them now. The oldest got married and this episode was about his wedding. Joshua is 20 years old and i believe his fiancee/wife is 18. Their first kiss will be at the altar. They've always had a chaperone around them so they won't be tempted. To each his own. Well, shortly before the wedding the dad, Jim-Bob, sits Josh down to have "the talk". I mean, c'mon...20 years old and just giving his son "the talk"? So after the talk they cut away to a commercial...the Plan B pill.
I just about died laughing.

"spitting out kids"....LOL @ Kathy! So true though.......I often wonder if her labor and delivery is mere minutes, not even hours! She probably is afraid to sneeze or cough from 8 months on.....he he
Wait one minute - their first kiss was at the altar!
Okay then......wow, that family just operates in a way totally foreign to me. Not that my girls have steady boyfriends but I wouldn't make them wait for their first kiss at the altar. AND I'm hoping they continue with their educations (bach. and masters' degrees each), before settling down. Ages 28 - 30 would be ideal if you ask me too........so far the plan's working!
Okay back to that Duggar family.......I cannot even imagine having that many children.
To each their own. My youngest daughter likes to watch the John and Kate plus 8 show (mom, dad, 8 kids, 6 are sextuplets). So I guess it's a nice escape to watch a family that is that large and busy! But in the John/Kate show, I just can't get past the fact that Kate is a major biotch so that important fact keeps me from getting into their story. This Duggar mom does seem very, very nice! Probably someone I could relate to - mom to mom. But not that Kate! What a witch!

I don't know if the duggar mom really raises the kids. It looks like she hands the babies off to the oldest girls. They're the ones that do the work around the house. Ya know, that "womens work".
I like Kate. At least she's a hands on mom. I'd be like her also if i had 8 kids. Heck, i'm probably like that and i only had 2 kids.

“In the Motherhood” – Thursdays at 8:00 p.m.
Megan Mullally (“Will & Grace”) and Cheryl Hines (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”) come to ABC in the new comedy “In the Motherhood,” which takes a look at the importance of family and friends while trying to juggle motherhood, work and love lives in an overly complicated modern world. The story focuses on Rosemary (Mullally), Jane (Hines) and Emily (Jessica St. Clair), who represent mothers we all know. Rosemary is a free-wheeling mom who plays it fast and loose when it comes to parenting her teenaged son, Luke. Married numerous times, but currently single, Rosemary lives by her own rules. Much to the amazement of the other moms, her nontraditional parenting style has yielded a son much more responsible than she. Rosemary’s best friend, Jane, is a recently divorced working mother of a pre-teen, Annie, and a baby girl, Sophie, who is just trying to keep her career and home afloat. Having just returned to work after giving birth eight months ago, Jane struggles to find a happy balance – lucky for her she has her “manny,” Horatio (Horatio Sanz, “Saturday Night Live”), to help out. Jane’s younger sister, Emily, sees herself as the model stay-at-home-super-mom for her two young children, Esther and Bill. Emily’s home is a work of art, and her kids are polite and sweet -- everything has its place in her world. Married to Jason (RonReaco Lee), Emily takes parenting as seriously as any mother could.
“In The Motherhood,” based on a popular web series of the same name, will feature stories inspired by real life experiences of viewers shared through our website http://www.inthemotherhood.com. From play dates and daycare to stretch marks and potty training, ABC wants to hear about your poignant, hilarious, emotional and even your most banal mommy moments.
“In the Motherhood” stars Cheryl Hines as Jane, Jessica St. Clair as Emily, Horatio Sanz as Horatio, RonReaco Lee as Jason and Megan Mullally as Rosemary.
Jennifer Konner & Alexandra Rushfield (“Undeclared”), Stuart Bloomberg and David Lang are the executive producers of “In the Motherhood,” which is from ABC Studios.
“Samantha Who?” – Thursdays at 8:30 p.m.
After a hit-and-run accident left Samantha Newly (Christina Applegate) in an eight-day coma, she awoke with retrograde amnesia, which allowed her to fully function in the world but left her with no personal memories of her past. As she began her quest to rediscover herself, she learned that she had been a horrible person. Vain, selfish and potentially surrounded by far more enemies than friends, she made a conscious decision to improve herself moving forward with the help of her eclectic friends and family.
“Samantha Who?” stars Christina Applegate as Samantha, Jennifer Esposito as Andrea, Kevin Dunn as Howard, Melissa McCarthy as Dena, Tim Russ as Frank with Barry Watson as Todd and Jean Smart as Regina.
“Samantha Who?” was created by Cecelia Ahern and Donald Todd. Todd, Peter Traugott and Matthew Carlson serve as executive producers. “Samantha Who?,” which is filmed in Los Angeles and premiered on October 15, 2007, is from ABC Studios.
“Scrubs” – Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m.
“Scrubs” focuses on the unique point of view of Dr. John Dorian, or “J.D.” (Zach Braff). After surviving his internship and residency at Sacred Heart Hospital, J.D. is now an attending physician with his own class of interns to guide and mentor. Even though J.D. has risen in the hospital ranks, he will continue to face many challenges in both his personal and professional life. Joining the rumpled J.D. at Sacred Heart Hospital are Dr. Chris Turk (Donald Faison, “Remember the Titans,” “Felicity”) -- J.D.’s college buddy who is part of the elite surgical group -- Turk’s wife, the no-nonsense head nurse Carla Espinosa (Judy Reyes, “Oz”), as well as the beautiful, but socially awkward Dr. Elliot Reid (Sarah Chalke, “Roseanne”). Former Chief of Medicine Dr. Bob Kelso (Ken Jenkins, “Courage Under Fire”) now keeps a watchful eye on the hospital staff from the coffee shop. Meanwhile, the caring yet abrasive Dr. Perry Cox (John C. McGinley, “Wall Street,” “Platoon”) is struggling with an identity crisis as he reevaluates his career, and Neil Flynn (“Magnolia”), the hospital janitor, portrays J.D.’s nemesis, who never seems to miss an opportunity to harass his target.
“Scrubs” stars Zach Braff as J.D., Sarah Chalke as Elliot Reid, Donald Faison as Chris Turk, John C. McGinley as Dr. Perry Cox, ,Judy Reyes as Carla Espinosa, Ken Jenkins as Dr. Bob Kelso and Neil Flynn as the Janitor.
“Scrubs” is produced by ABC Studios. Bill Lawrence (“Spin City”) is the executive producer and creator.
“Better Off Ted” – Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m.
“Better Off Ted” is a new office comedy about successful good guy Ted who runs Research and Development at the morally questionable Veridian Dynamics. No achievement is too far-fetched and no invention too unorthodox for Veridian. Need cow-less meat grown in a test tube? Done. Need pumpkins that also double as weapons of mass destruction? No problem. Ted’s a single dad to a seven-year-old girl and he loves his job, but he’s starting to take a closer look at the company’s extremely dubious practices. Do you manufacture the best teeth whitener ever if it could also kill off all of the planet’s fish? Probably not, but... Ted’s also fighting an attraction to co-worker Linda, who enjoys small acts of rebellion against Veridian (she’s secretly stealing and hoarding all the company’s creamer packets). But he holds back about his true feelings. He’s already had his self imposed “one office affair” with überboss Veronica. Incredibly beautiful (if seemingly devoid of conscience and emotion-free), Veronica lets nothing get in her way when it comes to serving Veridian’s needs.
“Better Off Ted” stars Jay Harrington as Ted, Portia de Rossi as Veronica, Andrea Anders as Linda, Jonathan Slavin as Phil and Malcolm Barrett as Lem. Isabella Acres appears in the recurring role of Rose, Ted’s daughter.
“Better Off Ted” is produced by 20th Century Fox Television. Victor Fresco (“My Name Is Earl,” “Andy Richter Controls the Universe”) is executive producer and creator of the series.

Breaking: ABC benches 'Ugly Betty'
Jan 26, 2009, 02:35 PM | by Michael Ausiello
Categories: Ugly Betty
Things are looking pretty gloomy for Ugly Betty.
In a just-announced Thursday night scheduling tweak, ABC is benching Betty beginning March 26 and replacing it with episodes of Samantha Who? and the new Megan Mullally-Cheryl Hines comedy In the Motherhood. The network's release concludes by saying, "Ugly Betty will return to Thursday nights at 8:00 p.m. following the run of In the Motherhood and Samantha Who?"
After crunching the numbers, that puts Betty's return (provided Sam Who/Motherhood don't tank) sometime around (gulp) June -- a.k.a. outside the regular season. Now, granted, Betty hasn't exactly been killing it in the ratings this season, but it's still one of ABC's signature shows. At least I thought it was.
"The Thursday night block is a good opportunity to launch these comedies," counters an ABC spokesperson. "That said, Betty is a solid performer and there is no question that it will definitely be back to complete its season, just without repeats."
But when will it be back? The net's not saying, and that's the part that has me worried. Do you share my concern? Or is there a silver lining here that I'm just not seeing? Comment away.

The last episodes of ER
Hi there! Fellow ER fan here.....from day one. Even though 15 years is a very good run for a drama, I will be sad to see it go. ER has been a big part of my Thursday nights for all these years! I think the current episodes have been quite strong. Each one, up to ER standards. Do you have a favorite character? Mine will always be Mark Greene but currently, Sam, Neela, Gates are up there. And the Aussie doc, Simon - he's turned out to be quite a surprise. Starting to like him too but the show will be over soon....

I hope you don't lose power!
Another current show I'm watching.......almost embarrassed to admit this, Kyle XY. My youngest daughter and I got into it. The third season just started. She's deserted me for college and doesn't really have time to watch it anymore. But I am sucked in again. It's a good sci-fi type show, that you can't really take seriously. But it's an interesting 1 hour escape!

I liked Abby, Frank..LOL, Gates is cool....Luka too.

TV Ratings: FOX Holds Off CBS Tuesday
'American Idol' once again dominant in the demos
January 28, 2009
Fast National ratings for Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009
"American Idol" recovered from its inauguration-induced ratings dip last week to lead FOX to a ratings victory on Tuesday.
FOX averaged a 10.3 rating/15 share for the night, beating out CBS' 9.8/15 for the top spot. The gap among total viewers was significantly wider, with FOX drawing 18.65 million people to CBS' 15.65 million. NBC finished third with a 5.9/9. ABC, 3.7/6, came in fourth, and The CW was well back with a meager 0.7/1.
FOX also dominated the adults 18-49 demographic with a 7.2 rating. NBC was a distant second at 3.5, followed by CBS at 3.2. ABC averaged 2.0 and The CW a paltry 0.3.
"American Idol" scored a 13.7/20 at 8 p.m., improving by about 3 million viewers over last week, when some folks were otherwise occupied with the presidential inauguration. "NCIS" drew a very solid 11.6/17 to finish second. "The Biggest Loser: Couples," 5.4/8, put NBC in third. "Homeland Security USA," 3.7/5, came in fourth for ABC, while The CW trailed with a "90210" rerun.
CBS took the lead at 9 p.m. with "The Mentalist," 9.6/14. "The Biggest Loser" improved to 7.6/11 in its second hour, beating out the 6.9/10 for "Fringe" on FOX. An hour of "Scrubs" on ABC averaged 3.3/5. The CW aired a "Privileged" repeat.
"Without a Trace," 8.2/14, claimed the top spot for CBS at 10 p.m. A "Law & Order: SVU" rerun scored a 4.8/8 for NBC, beating the 4.2/7 for "What Would You Do?" on ABC.

Miss Mary wrote:Hey Desperate Housewives fans......they're re-airing last week's episode, at 10 pm tonight.
Just wanted to share....
I just watched it on tape. This DH episode was a fantastic and very moving episode of an excellent series. I'd be lying if I said my eyes stayed dry. The amazing thing is how the writers were able to achieve that with a brand new character!
By the way, this is one of the very few prime time series I watch regularly. I didn't even attempt to watch a single episode the first few years because of the title. I didn't think they were even trying to appeal to male viewers. I watched a couple of episodes a couple of years ago more or less by accident rather than through a planned viewing. Needless to say, I now make every effort to avoid missing even a single episode. As a male, others have told me to keep my love for the show to myself...that it could negatively reflect on me. However, I simply can't hide my enjoyment of it.
