39 degrees was the high here and I also saw lots of peeps wearing shorts or at least coatless wearing a t-shirt and pants. Mind you we also have a few idiots that wear shorts when it's minus 40 (they post one short wearing fellow's picture in the paper every couple of years). I'm guessing he walks "very" fast (his home is about 4 blocks from work). His skin has got to be like cow leather.

When it is 43º in Houston all you see is heavy coats and the few northerners that haven't been here very long in short sleeves!!!

My car said 43 earlier when I was out. We had on light jackets and were fine. I wouldn't die in shorts and would go outside for something, but wouldn't like head out shopping or anything. Although I have been out and about when it was that chilly and even colder wearing shorts... left in the warmer afternoon and then was out longer than expected and it got cold at night... fairly common for that to happen around here with our cold nights and mild days.

I just hope the neighbors never saw me out in shorts and flip-flops getting firewood for the fire inside when it's 20's or 30's outside. I'm sure I look pretty silly! But I was comfy inside like that.

I hope you enjoyed your *warm* weather, RL3AO.

Anyone else having a warm-up?

Yes! It's 4 degrees now; the warmest morning in 7 days. I just needed a light jacket and gloves for my morning walk and didn't even need a hat once I got going.

Long term forecast says it might warm to 39 by Friday, which is well above normal. Nights will be really mild as well. +2 to +10 for for the next five days with no minus temps predicted for a while.

Overall, this January has been more mild than the last few years. Only 3 mornings this year were below -20. By comparison 2008 had 6 and 2007 had 13. 10 days this January didn't even drop below zero at all. In Jan 2008 we had 3 days that didn't drop below zero and in Jan 2007 we only had 1.

We're getting a warm up too and it looks like it will hang around a while.
