There's been 18 seasons or was that a typo?

I watched the one with Colby on the show. I believe it was in Australia. This was years ago and I haven't seen it since then.

I know it hasn't been on for 18 years, though. They do more than one a year? *goes to Google*

Hard to believe, but yes, 18 seasons. Australia was Season 2 in the spring of 2001.

Justin!

I was going to ask - what happened? LOL

I don't quite have a favorite yet........and Karan, no Tom for us......unless you spotted one - let me know, okay? LOL

Okay, that crazy older lady, is my EXACT age. She looks and acts much older than I am. And nuttier too - LOL! Maybe she'll go further in this game than it originally seemed to be. Nice switch up at the beginning- having to vote your first member off. Off to a helicopter! I think this tribe did the right thing in voting Carolina off, she was wearing more on my nerves than Sandy was!

The coach with long hair and tats is VERY annoying. Hoping he goes soon.

I guess I do have a favorite, the guy who has glasses. He just doesn't seem to fit with the rest and could end up being a quiet, determined player, out of his element - like Kenny was last season.

I need to get to know their names!

You gotta love James Thomas. Did they call him JT? Those hardworking country boys really are great. His dimples aren't bad either. LOL

Pburgh - I did like him too. I wonder if he could become our new Bobby Jon?

Justin - so sorry, for some odd reason I typed - Jason - when I first replied this morning. Mixing up your name with another poster. I fixed it! My bad....

OK, just watched the whole episode and it was pretty good but I didn't form many opinions of people. Sandy struck me as an idiot, not knowing what a pace was, but she did a great job at the challenge which likely saved her. Carolina didn't do much of anything and I'm sure her speech about sometimes coming off as whiny at TC didn't help matters. Two people from Alabama though I didn't even see the woman(JT was the other who came across nice).

Yup seems like it will be a pretty good season. What a shocker with the first vote off right off the bat!! Put a little twist in the game

I agree, JT is my first choice also(he's from Samson where the shooting spree happened in March), Stephen is my 2nd. I fully expect them to be the final two.

This season has had amazing blindsides(Tyson, Brendan, and Coach) but I feel like tonight is going to be so predictable. I also could not stand Coach. It was getting to where he was ruining the season.

Simply put?

Survivor ruled tonight. As soon as the winner was revealed I said - yes there is a God!

So I'm happy.......pretty much happy with how it all turned out. Sometimes I'm not and I'm so disappointed.....for instance when Yul won over Ozzy. I didn't let go of that loss for a long time....LOL Not that Yul wasn't deserving, he just wasn't OZZY!

All in all, great season. Jeff Probst emphasized his loyalty to fans who have watched the show for 9 years and 18 seasons. I will be watch each season as long as they continue making them. YES, I know he's signed on for 20 seasons........if the show continues with another host (Colby?) that's fine with me. It's a weekly pleasant escape that is enjoyable. It doesn't get old or boring - ever.

I did not watch the final tonight......although I'm not much on TV. Cool to see that young country boy win all seven of the jury votes. I hear it's only the second time for such a landslide.

It was a great finale and reunion show. At first this season was almost a snooze fest, I kept trying to find ~my~ fave and couldn't declare one player who stood out above the rest. Over time, JT rose to the forefront. IMO, he is very deserving of this title. Right before the final vote, I do believe the other player to get to the final 2 - Stephen - could have received a few votes but not enough to win. But Stephen goes ahead and shoots himself in the foot, in other words, he said so much and revealed so many things that were intended to make JT look bad in the eyes of the jury and in a sense threw JT under the bus at that point (their future friendship was on the line at one point, to which these words kept creaping into my thoughts "gentleman's agreement, gentleman's agreement...." LOL). All JT could do at that point was continue to be the AWESOME JT he had been the entire game. It didn't matter what Stephen had to say at that point, JT had it.

And yet, I was surprised that Stephen didn't receive at least one vote.

But clearly when all votes went to JT, as a fan and long time viewer, you knew you were watching an excellent season and finish. JT played this game in such an excellent way. He did betray Taj though, that could be the only thing considered unethical he did...but in the end even Taj gave him her vote. That's saying something......

JT's strategy and ability (not to mention humility) ranks up there with Tom Westman, Ozzy, Bobby Jon, Stephenie, IMHO........

Congrats JT! Job well done..........

he is about to get his big ole cheque on THE EARLY SHOW.

and for all you avid SURVIVOR FANS...

Survivor is returning to the South Pacific for the eighth time, as its 19th season will be filmed in the island nation of Samoa. It’s in the same cluster of islands as Fiji, the Cook Islands, and Vanuatu, while Micronesia, Palau, and Borneo are not far away.
Survivor Samoa will be taped this summer and air early in the fall, following the show’s typical schedule. At the end of the live Survivor Tocantins reunion, Jeff Probst revealed that it will have 18 cast members, but there were no other details.
The location was first reported back in March, when a journalist reported that local officials “heavily pressured” journalists to not reveal the production’s presence.
After two extremely remote and rugged locations, the show’s crew will stay at the Aggie Grey’s Lagoon Resort in Apia, which has resulted in “[h]undreds of New Zealanders [having] had bookings cancelled,” as The New Zealand Herald reported in March.

Survivor's Ethan Zohn Has Cancer
By Mark Dagostino

Ethan Zohn, the curly-haired soccer player who battled the elements and outwitted opponents to win Survivor: Africa, is facing his toughest adversary yet: cancer.

On April 30, Zohn was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin's disease. The diagnosis came after months of unexplained itching and night sweats, originally thought to be a skin condition. Doctors discovered a swollen lymph node under his left clavicle, and a CT scan revealed a mass on the left side of his chest. Then, just last week, Zohn learned he is suffering from a rare form the disease called CD20-positive Hodgkin's Lymphoma, for which he began chemotherapy last Friday.

"This is the ultimate game of Survivor," Zohn, 35, tells PEOPLE exclusively, "and there's really only one outcome, and that's to win. There's no other option."

Hodgkin's disease is a cancer of the body's lymphatic system with survival rates reaching as high as 90 percent. Zohn was told that the CD20 diagnosis, which affects around five percent of all Hodgkin's patients, has a similar cure rate, but is treated with an altered, more aggressive, three-month chemotherapy regimen. "They're going right after this," he says.

The chemo is expected to knock the always active and otherwise fit Zohn mostly out of commission for a few months, with nausea and weakness among its side effects. And he's expected to lose his famous mop of hair within two weeks.

Zohn's longtime girlfriend, Survivor: The Amazon winner Jenna Morasca, 27, is vowing to be at his side throughout the process. "I will fight with every fabric of my being to get him through this," Morasca tells PEOPLE.

Educating, Inspiring Others
Both Zohn and Morasca lost parents to cancer. Zohn's father died of colon cancer when Ethan was 14. Morasca's mother died in 2003, after a 12-year battle with breast cancer. "Our only point of reference with this situation is death," says Morasca.

Upon hearing the diagnosis, says Zohn, "My life flashed before my eyes." But in the roller coaster of emotions that followed, Zohn came to a conclusion: He wants to use his battle with cancer as way to educate and inspire others.

"This is happening for a reason," he tells PEOPLE. "You have to get spiritual about this [stuff]. I know I want to help people and inspire people. That's my purpose in life. So I need to use this as a platform."

Zohn, who has worked to raise money and awareness for AIDS relief in Africa through his Grassroot Soccer charity ever since winning Survivor's $1-million prize in 2002, had his first chemo treatment in Manhattan last Friday. Doctors inserted a small, octagonal port in his chest through which the chemo will be administered "like a fast-filling station" every two weeks. "It looks like I have a third nipple right now," says Zohn. "You can call me trip-nip!"

He'll face the loss of his hair with the same bravado. "My hair is my identity," he admits. But rather than find "long, disgusting Ethan Zohn hair all over my house," he's decided to shave it off in the next few days: "I'll get a mohawk or something fun that I've always wanted to do."

That's just fine with Morasca. "I so love the bad-boy look," she says. "I'd have him get a tattoo and a nose piercing, too, but he's not into it."

Bad-boy looks or not, Zohn says he feels well-prepared for the long fight ahead. "I've got good family and friends, and I'll roll with the punches as it comes to me. That's how I work in life. I'll take it on like a real game of Survivor," he says, adding: "I'm not getting voted out of this one."

Anyway, back to last night, I was very happy with the ending. It took awhile but I always somewhat favored the J.T./Stephen/Taj alliance going way back to the early weeks. It was 6 Timbira members to their 3 at their merge, and somehow they picked off Timbira one by one and all three made it to the final four. That is an unbelievable feat. The season I did find predictable a lot of weeks(including last night, only thing that surprised me was Taj going before Erinn), but it also had some of the most awesome blindslides.

Finally... I hope to never see or hear from Coach again.

Brent - brace yourself, I've read rumors of another All-Stars (for later seasons) and I'm guessing Coach would be asked back. Being the ego-maniac that he is, can't imagine Coach turning down that invitation. Probst seems to be equally shocked and then interested with Coach. Unlike Fairplay (you can tell Probst doesn't like Jon....LOL).

It was a great season, great finish. I'm just so happy it all turned out as it did.

That is such sad news to learn about Ethan. I will keep him in my prayers. 35 - that's just way too young......poor Ethan.

I've liked him from the beginning. I'm really happy with the outcome. He really is a guy who has it all - integrity, honesty, loyalty, tenacity, good looks, good looks, good looks and MONEY, MONEY, MONEY.

Seriously, I'm really happy for him.

IMO, Coach was good for Survivor, even though many seemed to hate him. Even if nobody would have liked him, I 'd say this. The one thing I think most people would say about him is that he isn't boring. His personality was among the most unique in the history of Survivor. I'm sure Mark Burnett would far prefer 18 Coach's over 18 boring people. Who would want to watch 18 boring/forgettable people? OTOH, I don't think having Coach caused people to turn off their TV's. If anything, I think that it kept more watching...probably mostly to root against him. He reminds me of a Pro Wrestling villain. I hope they have more very unique personalities like Coach in the future. I do hope he is on a future All-Stars edition.
