IDA is the big one. I've been having a feeling over that one since I first saw it.

So far, all three Graces have been duds...

Well not quite. 1991's edition played a part in history.

I think this will be a off year. First I don't remember any of the names form this years list ever causing problems. Or have numerous names been replaced? Just seems that this years names just aren't memorable. Besides, this country really needs a break this year.

Geeze Louise I wish I hadn't discovered the old list included Isabel.

We just had our first snowfall in years. The last year we had snowfall was 2003.

Bad omen LOL.

My opinions are

Ana: 50 mph ts forms south of Cuba but gets sheared to death June 10th

Bill: 50 mph ts forms 500 miles east of bermuda is a fish July 25th

Claudette:first cape verde system 80mph hurricane recurves 1000 miles east of the islands is another fish August 10th

Danny: Forms 100 miles east of the Bahamas is a 45 mph storm and just stays off shore and is another fish August 12th

Erika: Another Cape verde storm, but this is the first major of the season 130mph and hits near the space coast of Florida as a 120mph hurricane August 27th

Fred: Form in the BOC slides north and makes landfall near Corpus Christi as a 90 mph hurricane August 30th

Grace: Forms 1000 miles east of the islands comes near St Croix as 170 mph Hurricane moves to near the bahamas as a 160 mph hurricane then moves north Just sliding east of hatteras making a final landfall on nantucket as a 105 mph hurricane september 15th

Henri: Forms in the GOM heads east through Florida near tampa as a 60 mph ts September 23rd

Ida: another major hurricane near the Bahamas, shoot northeast and makes landfall in Bermuda as a 100 mph hurricane Oct 10th

thats all the storms that I see for the 2009 hurricane season because I think el nino will form in the mid summer and cause an early end to hurricane season

Let's see which names were destructive typhoons in the past.

Fred (Destructive hit in China in 1994)
Ida (Destructives hits in Japan in 1945 and 1958)
Kate (Destructive hit in the Philippines in 1970)
Rose (Destructive hit in Hong Kong in 1971)
Wanda (Destructive hits in 1956 (China) and 1962 (Hong Kong))

Danny sounds like our first major hurricane of the season that affects the western Gulf coast around NE TX and SW LA. Grace sounds like a east coast storm. I think Joaquin will be this year's biggy.

Danny stands out to me, just a gut feeling this one will be a bad boy, I have no idea where it will hit.

With all the landfalling hurricanes of 2008, none struck Florida. I think it's way overdue, and the state will see a couple.
