I read this last night and was just stunned. iirc the boy's dad has fathered 9 children himself? and the parents let the boy sleep over at the girls house?

at this point he needs to be staying with his child, no matter where the child is.

He wanted to have sex... he must face reality! He should be forced to get a job, even if it is a paper route, to help pay for his child!

First instinct is that it's The Sun and thus not believable. But given the officials have supposedly said stuff about this, could well be true. At any rate, Derek, you're out of line. He should be supported and allowed to continue school, not be forced to quit and take a job.

I have to agree. Kids do stupid things all the time, as dumb as this was I wouldn't go to such extreme lengths. The baby should be placed in the hands of capable parents.

No cat 5. He should be forced to help raise the child financially. I did not say quit school (like another poster who shall remain nameless said I said). An after school job, even if it is as a paper boy, is in order.

If you want to have fun, be prepared for the aftermath! He knew what could happen and he obviously idnt care, until after the child was conceived

That boy looks like a 5 year old, not 13 years old. I know in Peru that a 5 year old girl gave birth in the 1930s.

I knew a boy who got a girl pregnant at 12 or 13 yrs old. This was back in the early 60's so the girl just disappeared(went to Grandma's was the usual excuse). Things are a lot different now.

This is another example of a story in the news when you say outloud - nothing surprises me anymore.

Nothing.

Sadly for some children, they really have zero chance to just be children.

no, its a reason to WAIT UNTIL MARRIAGE! Contraception and other "protection" only encourages bad behavior

Rofl  Im sorry, I mean I think its great to wait but reality is teenagers will be teenagers and most are not going to
wait so why not wrap that rascal? It also will protect you from any STD.

This whole story is beyond my comprehension really. Why in the heck was mom allowing these boys over to
sleep in her bed? I think the parents are a lot to blame here, she was pretty much allowing her daughter to
have sex.

As I said earlier, if they want to have fun, they had better be prepared for the consequences.

If I have kids and they are having sex when they are teens, they are off to military school, no questions asked and they will never see that girl/guy again.

Call me old fashioned or whatever, but God's laws do NOT change with the times
