Brent - do you watch B & S? And if so, is it worth catching up on it......I've always enjoyed Sally's Field's work.....

It's pretty good, but it's gone downhill since Season 1 IMO which was awesome. It's not overly complicated like Lost so you could jump into it and not be totally lost. Tomorrow's episode looks really good.

DH is back next week for 3 new episodes in a row.

TONIGHT: 2 hours of 24, The shocking 2-Hour Bachelor finale and After the Final Rose, and Rules of Engagement returns to the CBS Monday lineup after 2 1/2 Men.

TV Ratings: CBS Ices Sunday Win
Two-hour 'Brothers & Sisters' solid for ABC

March 2, 2009

A two-hour "Brothers & Sisters" drew better-than-average ratings for ABC Sunday, but the latest "Jesse Stone" movie gave CBS the night's biggest audience.

CBS averaged an 8.5 rating/13 share in primetime, beating out ABC's 6.9/11. FOX came in third with a 5.0/8 (including live sports, so its numbers will change some). NBC, 4.2/7, finished fourth, and The CW came in fifth with a 1.0/2.

ABC led the demographic race, earning a 3.6 rating among adults 18-49. FOX was right behind at 3.5. NBC, 2.7, came in third, and despite its overall lead CBS finished only fourth in the demo at 2.4. The CW drew a 0.4.

The night started with CBS' "60 Minutes" (9.0/15) on top at 7 p.m. A NASCAR race on FOX drew a 6.0/10. "America's Funniest Home Videos," 5.2/9, put ABC in third. "Saturday Night Live: The Best of Tracy Morgan" managed only a 2.0/3 for NBC, but that was good enough to beat "Jericho" and the movie "Rain Man" on The CW.

ABC took the lead at 8 p.m. with "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," 6.6/10. "The Amazing Race," 6.3/10, was a close second for CBS. The NASCAR race, which ended a little after 8:30, and "The Simpsons" combined for a 5.5/8 on FOX. Another "SNL" special, this time featuring Will Ferrell, kept NBC in fourth. The CW got a 1.1/2 from "Rain Man."

CBS moved back into lead at 9 with the movie "Jesse Stone: Thin Ice," 9.2/14. "Brothers & Sisters" scored a 7.6/11 for ABC. The season premiere of "The Celebrity Apprentice" drew a 5.3/8 for NBC and finished second in adults 18-49 for the hour. FOX's animation block averaged 3.5/5 for the hour, beating The CW's movie.

"Jesse Stone: Thin Ice" improved a little to 9.4/15 at 10 p.m. The second hour of "Brothers & Sisters" delivered an 8.1/13, while "The Celebrity Apprentice" came in at 5.7/9.

The Bachelor, a show nearly dead last year smashed ratings records and destroyed the competition last night.

TV Ratings: 'Bachelor' Finale Dominates Monday
Three-hour extravaganza powers ABC to victory

March 3, 2009

Fast National ratings for Monday, March 2, 2009

Monday's finale of "The Bachelor" generated lots of outrage among viewers, but it also brought the show its biggest ratings since the early days of the franchise.

As a result, ABC led the night with a 10.6 rating/16 share. CBS took second with a 7.8/12. FOX, 6.5/9, came in third, a good ways ahead of NBC, 4.4/7. Reruns on The CW delivered a scant 0.8/1.

ABC also ruled the adults 18-49 demographic with a 5.8 rating. CBS was a decent second at 4.1. FOX, 3.3, finished third, followed by NBC, 2.7, and The CW, 0.5.

The first hour of "The Bachelor" finale drew a 9.4/14 at 8 p.m. "The Big Bang Theory" and "How I Met Your Mother" each scored a 6.7/10 for CBS. The first half of a two-hour "24" earned a 6.1/9 for FOX, topping the 4.0/6 for "Chuck" on NBC. The CW ran a repeat of "Gossip Girl."

"The Bachelor" improved to 10.8/16 at 9 p.m. as Jason Mesnick chose Melissa as the recipient of his final rose, giving the show its biggest finale audience since November 2003. CBS stayed in second with "Two and a Half Men," 9.3/13, and the season premiere of "Rules of Engagement," 7.3/11. FOX improved to 6.9/10 with more "24." NBC's "Heroes" continued to scuffle with a 4.5/6. A "One Tree Hill" repeat ended the night for The CW.

At 10 p.m., "The Bachelor: After the Final Rose" scored an 11.6/18 -- its best numbers ever -- as Mesnick changed his mind and asked for another shot with runner-up Molly. "CSI: Miami" scored an 8.5/14 for CBS, while "Medium" drew a 4.6/7 for NBC.

"American Idol" earned a 12.9/20 at 8 p.m. An "NCIS" rerun earned a healthy 8.7/13 for CBS. "The Biggest Loser: Couples," 5.1/8, was third for NBC, beating "Homeland Security USA" on ABC. The season premiere of "Reaper" pulled down a 1.5/2 for The CW.

Uh, it's Wednesday, what am I watching tonight.....

LOST!

LOL

Besides, New Adventures of Old Christine (our other Wed. night show, along with Gary, Unmarried) is a rerun anyway.......I hate it when they tuck a few reruns at this time of the year. At least Lost is a straight run of all new shows. Thank God for that!

Sorry to inform you, but Lost is a repeat next week. There aren't enough episodes to go completely through May. There will also be a clip show on April 22nd. Sweeps which were delayed from February start tomorrow and run through April 1st. ABC is airing one week of repeats of all it's big scripted shows(Grey's and PP tomorrow, Lost next week, DH, B&S on the 29th).

TV Ratings: Wednesday goes FOX's way
'American Idol' results carry the night, 'Top Model' lifts The CW

March 5, 2009

Fast National ratings for Wednesday, March 4, 2009

Wednesday's ratings followed their usual script, with "American Idol" carrying FOX to the top spot by a good-sized margin.

FOX averaged a 9.6 rating/15 share in primetime to finish well ahead of CBS, 5.8/9. ABC came in third at 4.4/7, followed by ABC at 3.6/6. The CW scored a 2.6/4.

In the adults 18-49 demographic, FOX's 5.7 rating was nearly double the 2.9 for second-place ABC. CBS took third with a 2.2, followed by The CW, 1.8, and NBC, 1.5.

The "American Idol" results show, which included the announcement of the wild-card contestants performing tonight, drew a 13.1/21 at 8 p.m. and blew away everything else on the air. The season finale of "Knight Rider" on NBC was the best of the rest at 3.6/6, drawing slightly more total viewers than reruns of "Old Christine" and "Gary Unmarried" on CBS. A "Lost" rerun on ABC earned a 3.2/5. The return of "America's Next Top Model" (2.3/4) to The CW represented a big improvement over the net's recent rerun fare.

In a fairly quiet 9 o'clock hour, CBS' "Criminal Minds" rerun led in households with a 6.6/10, but "Lost," 6.3/10, brought more viewers to ABC. FOX's "Lie to Me" finished a close third at 6.2/10. "Life" kept NBC just ahead of The CW and "Top Model," which improved to 3.0/5.

CBS took the lead at 10 p.m. with a "CSI: NY" rerun, 7.1/12. A "Law & Order" repeat, 4.1/7, put NBC in second. "Life on Mars" earned a 3.6/6 for ABC.

Brent - thanks. I was surprised when at the end of last night's episode, the preview said - in 2 weeks - there was probably a collective gasp from fans who didn't know they'd reair a rerun, in the 9 pm timeslot.

Jilted by Jason Mesnick on the season finale of The Bachelor, Melissa Rycroft will rebound nicely — on Dancing With the Stars, PEOPLE has learned.

Rycroft, 25, is to fill the slot vacated by Access Hollywood host Nancy O’Dell, who had to withdraw from the competition on March 5 due to a knee injury. According to a source close to the production, the Dallas beauty, who has had only days to rehearse, is expected to perform live on Dancing’s Monday premiere.

Girl Next Door Holly Madison is believed to be taking over for singer Jewel, who also withdrew due to injury. Both Jewel and O’Dell have expressed their desire to return to the ballroom in the future.

TV Ratings: CBS and ABC split Sunday
Eye gets the most eyes, Alphabet wins the demo

March 9, 2009

Fast National ratings for Sunday, March 8, 2009

The daylight savings effect seemed to hit the TV networks Sunday, resulting in somewhat lower ratings across the board. CBS ended up with the overall lead, while ABC had the best demographic numbers.

CBS averaged a 7.0 rating/12 share in primetime, beating out ABC's 6.5/11. NBC was pretty far back in third, finishing with a 3.9/6. FOX, 2.8/5, came in fourth, and The CW turned in a miniscule 0.6/1.

ABC led among adults 18-49 with a 3.3 rating. CBS' 2.6 was good for second, followed by NBC, 2.4, and FOX, 2.3. The CW came in at 0.2.

CBS' "60 Minutes" easily led the 7 o'clock hour with an 8.5/15. "America's Funniest Home Videos" earned a 4.2/8 for ABC. A "Saturday Night Live" game-show parodies special drew a 2.2/4 for NBC, beating the 1.6/3 for "Hole in the Wall" on FOX. The CW went with "Jericho."

"The Amazing Race," 6.2/10, kept CBS on top at 8 p.m. "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," 6.0/10, finished a close second for ABC. Another "SNL" clip show, this one featuring commercials, improved to 3.7/6 for NBC. "The Simpsons," 3.4/6, and "King of the Hill," 2.8/4, took fourth for FOX. "Easy Money" -- the 1983 Rodney Dangerfield movie, not the series from earlier this year -- ran on The CW.

ABC took over at 9 thanks to "Desperate Housewives," the night's most-watched show at 8.7/13. "Cold Case" came in a close second at 7.7/12. "The Celebrity Apprentice" earned a 4.4/7 for NBC. "Family Guy," 4.2/6, and "American Dad," 3.1/5, finished out the night for FOX, while The CW played out the string with its movie.

"Brothers & Sisters" scored a 7.1/12 for ABC at 10. "The Unit," 5.8/9, put CBS in second, while "The Celebrity Apprentice" improved to 5.2/8 on NBC.

FYI - Big Bang Theory fans, new episode tonight, looks to be hilarious. The boys are traveling on a TRAIN. Okay, just the image of Sheldon packing for a trip, then leaving on a trip, then boarding a bus/train/plane has me laughing already! He's already driven the group crazy just riding in a car!!! LOL

Let the fun begin......as I've posted before, I firmly believe Big Bang Theory is one of the best newer shows to air, in a long, long time.

No, sorry didn't have time to watch. As is it was I could have watched 4 hours of TV tonight. I got thru half of my shows and have Chuck to watch tomorrow night. Somehow I'll fit in Kyle XY too (before it disappears, it's cancelled). Promos for Castle looked good though, I like the male lead actor. Of course from Desperate Housewives but also from a show long ago, Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place. Promos made it seem like the two fictional characters would have instant rapport with each other. Did they? Curious.....the way they were promoting this new show, it seemed as if it had been on already and the pilot hadn't even aired yet! LOL

Well it's more him than her but she's starting to fall for him too. It's just tension for now though. I don't know that it'll actually go further. The actors have amazing chemistry however.
