TROPICAL DEPRESSION ONE FORMS OVER LAKE CHAMPLAIGN

#1 Postby Cyclone1 » Wed Apr 01, 2009 8:32 am

ITS TRU FAX! :O

Well, I hadn't seen a single April Fool's Day post on the site, so I figured, what's a year without an April Fools Day, right?

I sincerely hope you didn't fall for this one.

Car and Driver always runs a very real sounding story on April 1st.

Last year it was Toyota acquiring the unused Oldsmobile name, and putting the name on a variety of Toyota models to be positioned between the Toyota and Lexus brands as far as quality and price. Absolutely read like a real story.

Not gonna mention what this years April Fools story is.

For those who like well thought out jokes on this fine April day- check out the one from Duke's basketball fan site:

I think the most logical April fools days you could in the tropics is a tropical system in the open atlantic, as on the rare occasion they have formed before May.

Yeah I know, but I wasn't trying to be logical at all.

Last year I gave it a shot. I photoshopped a bunch of old "Never Before Seen sateliite images from the early 60s!" which were debunked almost immediately. If I were really devoted, I would gave built a free website and made it look legit, but I didn't care all that much I guess.

It's always funny to see what people do on this day, and how many people fall for it.

With Mecklenburg, Honeyko, and Mr. Cool down the sun gone, the site is too smart to fall for something this insane. :D

XD That's why I did it. I didn't want them to get over-exited and crash the NRL site.

I was searching for images on Google and came across that and fell for it!
