Most dangerous cell near Decatur/Huntsville Airport. S side of Huntsville needs to watch out. Softball sized hail possible in downtown Huntsville.

The National Weather Service in Huntsville has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
southeastern Limestone County in north central Alabama...
south central Madison County in north central Alabama...
northeastern Morgan County in north central Alabama...

* until 245 PM CDT

* at 218 PM CDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a
severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado near
Priceville... or about 6 miles south of Decatur... moving east at 50
mph.

* Locations near the path of this tornado include...
Priceville.
Mooresville.
Triana.
Madison.

My daughter is flying from houston, tx to newark, nj in a couple of hours. I found the flight pattern which might take her pretty much right over these storms if the timing is right. I'll have to tell her to have her camera out if they take the southern route if there's any interesting cloudtops from these storms.

The Nashville-Tennessean.com newspaper site reports nine injured so far in Mufreesboro and hospital workers told to expect more through the afternoon. Also says there are reports of "many houses gone" in certain areas. Appears to be a bad twister strike.

At 227 PM CDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar and storm
spotters spotted an extremely dangerous tornado.
This tornado was
located 10 miles northwest of Tracy City... or 14 miles southeast of
Manchester... moving east at 40 mph.

The tornado will be near...
8 miles north of Tracy City by 235 PM CDT...
Coalmont by 240 PM CDT...
Altamont by 245 PM CDT...
Beersheba Springs and Gruetli-Laager by 250 PM CDT...
Palmer by 255 PM CDT...

CM,here is the radar loop of the area that she is flying.I pray that she arrives fine at Newark.Maybe the pilot goes more east before it goes north to avoid that line.

Watch out for storm initiation from a Birmingham - Gadsden - Rome line out ahead of the main line. Any storm that forms in this region will quickly rotate and have the potential to produce long track tornadoes.
