I vote for water boarding all those involved.

Apparently, that would have to include the FAA. . .

Bad decision, looks just like Air Force One though. I understand the panic but they would never shoot down air force one. I am Glad that President Obama was pissed he would never ok this.

Exactly. That's all that really needed to be done. The President was not going to be on board, so there was no need for secrecy.

Why is this even classified when everyone can see it? If something is classified, it can only be seen by a few people.

no it's because the location of the aircraft would have been known in advance

There are some that would disagree with that. That is a very special plane with very special equipment on board. Terrorists would love nothing better than to destroy something like that.
However, as I have stated previously, I think this whole thing was done very stupidly.

Yes -- it was political in nature as are many many posts by other members. Once you have a bullzeye on your back however, you are easy picking.

For instance: If somebody theorizes that Obama never would have approved such a maneuver (which is jsut an opinion with no proof), and is allowed to post that, why is another view(mine) that theorizes that Obama had to know what was going on, and being at the top should accept full responsibility, dissallowed??

Fair question I think.

Speaking as a scientist, I find the logic impecable.

Those 747s are for the president's use and need to be immediately available in case of an emergency. Someone close to the president knew where the plane was, and what it was doing. You just don't take those babies for a joy ride.

I would love to see a list of who was on board. Inquiring minds want to know!

It was carried out by the Defense Department with little warning, infuriating New York officials and putting the White House on the defense. Even Mayor Michael Bloomberg didn't know about it, and he later called it ``insensitive'' to fly so near the site of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

The director of the White House military office, Louis Caldera, took the blame a few hours later.

I guess Mr. Caldera has been voted to be the one to "take one for the team"

Actually, Mr. Caldera said that he approved of the decision to do this photo-op. The buck seems to have stopped at his desk. Unless he was lying about that as well, the least thing he could've done was to admit it.

Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland?

Oops now they have to move it since a member of the public knows where the airplane is. They're probably tracking me down as we speak too.
