Some thunderstorms are developing in Hillsborough/Manatee counties,
and moving west..let's see if they can stay alive and make it into
Pinellas (doubtful..but there is much more moisture today).

Re: Florida Weather Thread: Dry weather continues
Another sea breeze convergence line edged us with a 1 minute shower from a single cell last night. Pure rainy season type rain. This is the height of dry season at the end of months of little rain. Slight uptick in humidity being felt. Alligators are dug into the diminishing pools of their alligator holes in the Glades and storks are feasting on the fish forced into concentration in the pools. Their season breeding depends on easy pickings for the stork hatchlings. Heavy rain also kills fledglings in the nest.

Re: Florida Weather Thread: Dry weather continues
The humidity uptick and warmth in the house at night goes right along with the SST increase.

Too bad the cells are so tiny!
Isn't it too early in the season for significant development?

Yes its a bit too early, rainy season for the West Coast of FL begins in June, May is usually high and dry. For Southern FL, rainy season starts a little bit earlier, with a mean start date of May 21st.
Expect some isolated POPS but well inland and away from the Coast. For those along the beaches, if you look far to the east you may see some isolated storms but they aren't coming west.
