Confession time......who tuned into Jon and Kate, Plus 8?

My daughter used to watch this show so I'm aware of the premise. And the rumors. This couple are pictured on gossip magazines, I'm sure you're aware of the talk.

So as I kept flipping channels over the weekend I noticed the Jon and Kate, Plus 8 Marathon. All weekend long.

By 9 pm last night, I thought, oh heck, I'll see what they're talking about tonight.

So I'll admit it, I did watch. LOL I will not watch anymore of this show. Those poor kids. Exploited by their parents. Sad really. Mostly, after watching the season premiere I am grateful for:

Having had 2 kids.

Having the husband that I have.

And not having a film crew in my house!

So.........anyone else tune in? It's safe here, you can admit it......LOL

I watched Dr. G autopsy a 39 year old party person, who drank like a fish and sniffed enough cocaine to get a hole in her septum, who died of a necrotic esophagus, a rare complication of alcohol abuse, and an apparent double homicide of a couple in bed, that was actually a murder suicide done by a man with a brain tumor.


She is dating her security guard, and he is dating a school teacher, if the checkout aisle newspapers can be believed.

I know fans want to speculate who's dating who here, or if both spouses have not cheated. Who cares really I say.......here's what I feel the saddest for:

THOSE POOR KIDS!

What a childhood they're growing up to have. They have nothing else to compare it to. Someday we'll read books written by these kids, similar to the Jackson or Osmond siblings have written.......growing up in the limelight. 24/7. Literally.

I just feel sad this morning. For the kids. Forget the two wacko parents.

.i've seen prior shows and read the EW and People articles about how the show is done and the "reality" shown on the show vs. what actually happens.. . it's a sad situation. .

I've seen a few episodes (or portions of them) and thought they were pretty funny. The kids seemed oblivious to cameras being around them. I certainly wouldn't subject myself or my kids to such a thing, though. I need some privacy!

And btw, I've never read or seen anything about the show, other than seeing it on TV a few times. I haven't heard the rumors. I've never seen the couple pictured on gossip magazines and I haven't a clue what the talk I should be aware of is about. Enlighten us.

The wife has written a book and was out of town on a booktour. He was caught at 2 am coming out of a club with another woman. Pictures made it look like he was cheating on his wife. But the girl says no, they're just friends. The husband claims he was just out with friends, having fun, not cheating. He was out letting off steam. They must have a lot of nannies. I think the wife thought he should have his priorities straight, with her gone but on a business trip for the family (family's budget I should say), then I'm sure she thinks he should have been home - with the kids. And if they're were all in bed at 2 am, the husband should have been home too. Even with nannies in the house.

So all this speculation started. It really goes back to how many fans feel the wife treats the husband - awful, barking orders at him and never really truly appreciating him as she should.

So then the tabloids claim he's out cheating. He says no. At some point I think he implied his wife had cheated on him with a security guard.

At this point it's not clear on who did what but they are separated. The husband is living in an apartment above their garage. Or at least that's what I read online.

I just find it all very sad.

But you are leaving out the number of nannies, personal assistants, and the organic chef they have . .. Kate was said to be upset when one of kids called her one of the babysitter's names . . . of course I won't go into the total makeover (the tummy tuck was just the beginning). .. . she is estranged from her parents, she banned her sister-in-law (i think its Jon's sister) from the house

You know, if I already had twins as a result of fertility pills after difficulty conceiving, I'd keep trying to have babies the natural way if I wanted more babies. I sure wouldn't want to take fertility pills, as they frequently cause multiples.



BTW, my sister and her husband spent about ten years and tens of thousands of dollars, including in vitro, trying for a baby before giving up and starting the adoption process. Not a year into trying to adopt, bam, pregnant. Now they have two.


My wife and I have four kids, two planned and two that snuck up on us, and now that we have four, it seems the perfect number to have, even though we planned on 2, maybe 3, when we married.

I've been an avid fan since the beginning. Those kids are just too cute!

Jon...what a whiner! He gets bored every couple of years with whatever job he had or gets laid off (not sure if he was fired or laid off). It's been a couple of years and guess what? He doesn't like what he's doing anymore. Kate takes on the role of the breadwinner and is chastised for it. She is commited to speaking engagements (which they both used to do together) and they both wrote the book with Beth Carson. She is fulfilling the legal commitments that they evidently both agreed to. I don't know how he plans on supporting his kids without the show or any other job. He seems to be enjoying the money and the extra perks and benefits from it all though...didn't he just purchase a car without Kate's knowledge?

Jon was caught not only leaving bar with the girl but also the girls apartment early in the morning daylight hours. As for Kate and infidelity, i don't know. I do know that when Jon talked about the accusations against him he could barely look at the camera and was constantly glancing away whereas when Kate was confronted with possible infidelity she pretty much talked straight at the camera.

But those kids...what can i say? They are absolutely precious! Aaden is the one i enjoy watching the most. Mady is still a little snot!

I will admit it - those kids are adorable.

My main point is I wish they could have a more normal upbringing. Because all of this is definitely not normal!

We will be hearing from these kids in 20 years. Oh yeah, there will be a best seller or two for sale at Borders.

I've never seen a woman belittle her husband as much as this one does. Even her daughters are starting to act like her. As CM said Mady is a snot and from what I've seen of the little girls as they have gotten older, they are turning in to snots too. I guess they don't have the best example to follow. So very sad.

Yes, I have to admit, I watch it once in a while. The screaming and screeching kinda hurts my ears.LOL

I have watched it once or twice since it's beginning and not at all lately. Why? I can't stand the prima donna they call a mother. I would have left that woman before I ever married her!!!YUCK!!!
Fortunately I am 37 years happily married.

Reality TV stars Jon Gosselin and his wife Kate Gosselin from the TLC series, 'Jon & Kate Plus 8.'
WERNERSVILLE, Pa. — Jon, Kate and their eight children have attracted a huge TV audience, screaming tabloid headlines and, now, a state labor investigation.

The Pennsylvania Department of Labor says it's looking into whether the hit reality show "Jon & Kate Plus 8" is complying with child labor laws.


The TLC series follows Jon and Kate Gosselin as they raise their eight young children, including 8-year-old twins and sextuplets who just turned 5. The show drew nearly 10 million viewers for its fifth-season premiere Monday following reports of trouble in the Gosselins' marriage.

Labor Department spokesman Justin Fleming tells The Associated Press that the department is looking into a complaint against the show.

From what i have read from a couple of Gosselin boards there are no labor laws concerning "reality" tv shows and children.

My daughter likes the Little People show as well. She's always watched this Jon/Kate show and unless you've been living under a rock somewhere, most people (even her dad!) are aware there's trouble in this marriage. My main point of starting this thread was - even though I've only watched this show from say the kitchen, while my daughter's been watching all the episodes over the years, I have never sat down to watch one all the way thru. Of course long ago, I declared the wife to be a B, and it wasn't right how she talked to her husband. I just wanted to know who was going to tune in to see if the marriage was on the rocks. It's like a train wreck you can't bring yourself to watch but you do.

But this "celeb" scandal is different. Because there are 8 young children involved. Children who didn't ask to be on a TV show!

So now of course I worry about what all of this is doing to the children. The answer is so clear and simple and yet it won't happen - this family needs to stop the show. If they can't legally, see an attorney and get out of the contract. Then retreat from the world. LITERALLY. Go into couples and family counseling. Save your marriage if it can be saved. And if not, remain as civil as possible - for your adorable young children.

The worry I have for this couple/family is different than I had for Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan (none really.....LOL). This is very different.

I do hope that someone with good sense steps in here and stops the madness. Dr. Phil?
