TV: Lost - Season 6: The Final Season - Premieres Feb. 2nd

Do I miss Lost already?
How did you know? LOL
I like the term - Lostaholic. I do think that fits me to a T. I caught another rerun yesterday (odd how the Sci-Fi channel only shows Lost reruns at 4, when they seem to feel like it, now it's Mon-Thurs., if we're lucky).
Thanks for the info Kelly. While I don't quite understand what these websites are trying to do I'll look into it and give my daughter the link too.
Yesterday I surprised her with an extra birthday gift (I owed her one more). Having it shipped to her dorm. It's a Lost Dharma Rubik's cube. LOL! She's planning on having 2 friends over for Lost marathons in our basement this summer. The cube will likely be a hit. LOL

I saw this on docarzt. I bet many of us can relate!

Loss of LOST Leads to Long Lackluster Life
So yesterday was the last First-Wednesday-Without-Lost that at least has the promise of another Season on the horizon. As such it was a taste of things to come. With that in mind, I would like to share my assessment of what Wednesdays will be like a year from now, when Season 6, and thus the show, has concluded.
Let me tell you, the future is bleak.
The first indication of this bleakness was when I woke up Wednesday with a total lack of enthusiasm. Usually I have a sense of purpose that gets me through the day, just so I can find my way to the couch in front of the TV at 9:00 pm with the kids in bed and the remote in my hand.
But not yesterday.
Yesterday I just went through the motions, not particularly excited about getting home. When I finally did, I could find no succor from the other TV shows that I was forced to deal with in lieu of Lost. There was a pirate movie on ABC, so I surfed around the other channels to see what normally goes on on Wednesdays other than Lost.
There was a musical show on Fox, a competition of sorts. When I discovered that the show revolved around a struggle between two men, one dressed in black, and one dressed in white, my interest perked up. But alas, the evening dragged on with no philosophical musings, no threats of killing or loopholes, no aping of dead men, (except for a flashback sequence in which the man in black assumed the form of Elvis, but without the whooshing sound effect and a parallel storyline, this flashback left much to be desired), and in the end, I found that I couldn’t sustain my interest, so I changed the channel.
All of the other channels were offering the same old tripe, procedural crime dramas, sitcoms, movies edited for time and content, etc. Without LOST, all other offerings meld into a homogeneous, bland soup of ‘Meh’. Thus TV without LOST failed me.
Having turned off the television, I found myself reverting to habit and doing what I usually do on Wednesdays after LOST, I turned to the internet for companionship. Again I was met with bitter disappointment. Without a fresh episode of LOST to dissect, the boards and blogs were a vast wasteland of rehashed theories and redundant observations. Out of desperation I turned to the rest of the internet, sites not related to LOST, and discovered that there is a lot of other stuff going on out there. Most of it involving stuff. Thus the internet without LOST failed me.
Without TV and the internet, I was forced to seek stimulation from other human beings, and as a result I slowly became aware of other goings on in my home. Namely my wife and children appeared to have a whole storyline going on without me. This came as quite a surprise, as up to that point I was under the impression that after 9pm on Wednesdays the rest of my family ceased to exist until Thursday morning. Yet here they were, not only existing, but engaging each other in an intricate ritual. As I observed, I began to perceive that there was a struggle taking place between my wife and my two girls. Much like the conflict between the Losties and the Others. In this case, my wife was trying to put the girls to bed, and the girls were constantly coming up with increasingly elaborate excuses for why they shouldn’t be in bed. It was fascinating to behold.
At one point my wife actually broke the fourth wall and pleaded to me for help. This was unprecedented in my Wednesday night experiences! Sure, there were plenty of times I wanted to somehow influence the actions of Jack and Kate and Company, but despite my screamed instructions, the characters never acknowledged my suggestions, and never, never have they actively sought my help. So, as you can imagine, I was at a loss as to what to do about my wife’s plea of “Snap out of it! Lost is not on tonight, therefore you get to put those little monsters to bed tonight! I am done!”.
“Monsters.” I had never even considered the possibility that there might be two Monsters on the Island. I immediately got online to blog about the possibility that not only is Jacob’s Nemesis the Smoke Monster, but perhaps Jacob is also an as-of-yet unseen Monster. Not an easy task with two little girls running around the living room screaming and my wife on the couch crying.
But somehow I managed. After all, I am a Lost fan.

OMG, great article. EXACTLY how I feel.....
Hands down, best quote:

My husband and I have been trying to find good programming to watch. We're still watching a Survivor type show set in Alaska. We tuned into the Africa Expedition, on the History Channel (eh, it's okay......). Mostly, I'm in a funk too without Lost.
I've actually said these words to my husband - I wish you were a Lost fan! He just laughs......cause I need a Lost marathon!
Just the other day I caught a rerun, where they're trying to capture Ethan, after he kidnapped Claire. In the end they use Claire as bait and Jack catches Ethan. All guns were drawn on him but no one fired. Then of course you all know that Charlie kills Ethan, so he never harm Claire again. I guess I had forgotten that Charlie did that. (Please don't hate me now......somewhere back in that Lost memory bank I have in my head, of course I would have remembered Charlie murdered Ethan, but I had forgotten how tense that scene was).
Thanks for the article Kelly!

Okay, so I am almost finished with Season 1 on the LOST rewatch. So here a few things sticking out to me right now:
1) The numbers... we really haven't heard much about them in a while but I still think they must factor in.
Also that leads me to ask this question: was Hurley visited by Jacob in the finale? I don't remember it. If he wasn't, what does that mean?
2) To what extent was Walt causing things to happen on the island? Polar bears, raft fires, etc. And does this fit in to the grand scheme of things?
3) Where did Christian Sheppard go?

1) Yes, Hurley was visited by Jacob. Remember they were both in the cab and Jacob told Hurley which flight he needed to take. Then he left the guitar in the cab and Hurley told him that he forgot his guitar and Jacob said it wasn't his.
2) Good question. I've always wondered about Walt's role in the whole scope of things.
3) I'm not sure what you mean. He has always shown up periodically and I believe the last time we saw him was when he was in present time "Dharmaville" and talked to Sun and co.

I still want to know why they, ie "the others", want or are interested in the kids.
1. The flight attendant Cindy and the 2 kids, taken early on from the tail section survivors (but we didn't see these scenes, via flashback, until Season 2). Just where are Cindy and these 2 kids? Shouldn't they be hiking with Richard's group to the statue?
2. Walt
3. Aaron
4. Sun's baby
Granted 3 of these children were permitted to return to the real world. So that gives me hope the others do not want to perform diabolical experiments on kids (but after they took Walt, didn't you wonder what they were doing with him?). Still, the others should have known that to a group of plane crash survivors, this group would protect kids and women first!
So of all the mysteries on the island, I would really like to know why they are so interested in kids. This is so sci-fi but do the kids donate blood transfusions and then they're injected into someone such as Richard? Who never ages? LOL
Yeah I've watched a few too many Sci-fi movies in my time.....he he

Lost:
Matthew Fox did a Q&A at a movie festival in Monte Carlo, where he gave away some stuff about season six. He says he's been told Jack and Locke will go "head to head" a lot in season six, but he didn't specify whether that was the real, dead Locke or the imposter, who fans are now calling "Darth Locke." The opening scene of the season premiere will explain what happened at the end of season five, and it'll be surprising and confusing at first.
And about a third of the way through the season, he says "both timelines" will be "solidified into linear time," and from that point on, there will be no more flashbacks or flashforwards — just time moving forward on the Island. (And no, I'm not sure what he means by both timelines, either. Could be two divergent timelines, could be a flash-back timeline and the present day.) The ending of the show itself will be beautiful, sad, redemptive, moving and awesome. [The ODI via Lyly Ford]

Wow, thanks for the info!
That sounds like on the edge of your seat TV watching to me! Heck, when M. Fox said at that point no more flashbacks, flashforwards, solidified into linear time, I actually sat up and read with such intensity.
I am going to MISS THIS SHOW SO MUCH (at this time next year, I'll probably still be a little teary eyed......oh yes I'm going to cry!)....
And, before I forget to add - Darth Locke. I like it!

I was disappointed today, I usually tape the Lost reruns on an old VCR, so hubby doesn't get too annoyed all these Lost episodes are clogging up the DVR....LOL I had to rewind the tape and meant to turn it off. But forgot......so at 4:55 I remembered, I ran to the TV to see which episode it was......I missed a good one........dang it. Boone dies and Aaron is born. What an emotional episode that was. Of course my daughter has the first season on DVD, it's just with her on a college campus. I can never get it away from her....he he What an episode to miss though. Remember how sad we were at losing Boone? But then when Aaron was born it was just so sweet? The end of one life, the beginning of another......
I still miss Boone.
I still miss Boone.

So yeah, we all wondered if the bomb going off (assuming it did) meant the plane would land safely in L.A. like Faraday postulated, meaning the plane never crashed. Well, these videos seem to point clearly in that direction. Are they giving us an idea of where Season 6 is headed, or are they serving us up some deep fried Red Herring? The fun will be in finding out…

I think she'll be back. She might still be dead, but when has that ever stopped Christian, Charlie, etc.?
