You have nominated several candidates for SOTM but now this is your chance to select just one that you believe should represent the month of May, 2009. You have three days to vote!

I voted for the storm that killed over 300 and left a million homeless.

And it wasn't 90L.

Going with the same one there. The derechos would have been my second choice.

Not a real tough choice this time. There were definitely a few very notable weather events, but Aila stands out.

How is it that 90L has gotten more votes than the May derechos and TD1?

90L produced a lot of flooding. 01L didn't affect land, did it?

Why should TD one get votes? At least 90L impacted land.

EVERYONE is due their opinion, whether anyone else likes it or agrees with it or not. If the arguing and snipping about why people voted for different storms/weather events doesn't stop this monthly poll will be stopped. Be respectful of others and LIGHTEN UP FOLKS!!!

TY02W (Chan-hom) was a unique storm that moved into western Luzon from the SCS-a most unusual track and caused a considerable amount of havoc, however, Aila was the more significant storm of the two so I went with TC02B.

no, in may the only thing that could even challenge aila would be a huge tornado outbreak, which we didnt have this year.

Closest thing in May were the many tornadoes spun off the derechos.
