I like all three. And I can give my reasons:

Coke: There was something about the flavor of an ice-cold Coke that I once told someone was kind of "Christmasy" (that smell of Bayberry and holiday spice, to be exact). It was well mixed with the cold, and created such a good taste.

Pepsi: Pepsi is best, in my opinion, when it's stored in none-too-cold conditions (try next to an AC vent). When its cold, it overpowers its flavor. On a side note, I've tried hot Pepsi. It wasn't BAD, per se, but felt like tasting hot water...hot, flat water.

Dr. Pepper: Dr. Pepper's taste takes a bit of time to get acquainted with it, but the idea that it tastes like toothpaste isn't that too far off. However, the texture (with the fizz) makes it good, plus the subtle flavors with it. It's my at the hand drink, as is Wild Cherry Pepsi. My family doesn't drink Coke nearly as often, so I rarely drink it.

Bottom line: I like all three.

Never cared for Pepsi. Coke is good. Used to LOVE Dr. Pepper. I guess I got bored of it. If I do drink a soda (usually it's water for me), it's either Sprite or Coke.

COKE! Lately Coke Zero, which believe it or not is actually good! I always hated the taste of diet anything, but Coke Zero is excellent!!!

Regular Coke, in a glass bottle, ice cold almost to the point of slush, YUMMY!!!

If I HAD to take a pepsi product, Mt Dew!! I cannot stand the taste of Pepsi, blech!

Pepsi is too sweet. Now that I drink mostly Diet Coke, 'cause I'm fat, regular Coke is too thick.


But back in the day, Coke has a slightly tangier taste.

Mama, I too like the very hard to find Caffeine-free, diet Dr. Pepper. I have never found it here in the Burgh but pick up a few cases when I'm at my Daughter's home in Roanoke, Virginia.

Caffeine free Diet Coke is missing a small bit of the tang of regular Diet Coke.

My walmart always has it! Check with your grocery store. They may be able to stock it if you ask for it.

TYNI so how would you describe the difference between ours and the Americans???

All I can remember, it's been 8 years since we last crossed the border, is that I poured mine down a drain in Wyoming. I stuck to fruit juice for the rest of the trip.

Arbies surprised me too (the sauces in the United States are totally different than what we have up here). I'm guessing that the coke company (and Arbies) recognize that our taste buds are quite different (I remember Emeril Lagasse came up to Canada for something or other re cooking and he mentioned how he had to change his recipes for the Canadian diners (British influence maybe?).

Well, I spent some time last summer and this winter in the US. I can say that the Canadian coke seems less syrupy, a little more refreshing, but I did still drink the US Coke, but it had to be ice cold, as all Coke really should be anyway... and I really don't like Coke as a fountain drink (ie McDonalds etc...), as even in here at home I find it too syrupy. It's subtle, like Canadian Coors Lite vs American Coors Lite.

Why close the poll? If someone pops in and wants to vote, why not? It's not like Member or Storm of the Month, where they clearly have to have an end date. Unless we're gonna start doing soda of the month.

Coke!!!!!!

From a can, especially! I can't put my finger on it, but it beats too-sweet Pepsi and too-syrupy Dr. Pepper for me. I don't mind any of the other colas, but Coca-Cola is my preferred soda beverage.

Dr. Pepper is not owned by Coca-Cola, by the way. Coke does have its' own lookalike brand called Mr. Pibb.
As for the difference between Canadian and American Coca-Cola recipies...I wonder if it has anything to do with Canada's famously relaxed drug laws?

LOLOLOLOL re Canada's relaxed drug laws (trust me they haven't gone that far). Here even a joint would draw the eye, and reach, of the local law so they'd have a field day with a company that put Cocaine in their product (in this day and age).

I do think Mary Jane is wonderful for those that have terminal illness however though many of them still have trouble with the law.
