Agree. He turned into a weirdo in the past decade or so but the peak of his career was legendary and will never be forgotten.

I wouldn't go that far, but he was definitely an incredible singer/performer a few decades ago. I haven't liked him for quite some time, but my prayers go out to his family and friends at this time.

He was just weeks away from London "comeback shows."

Despite the 'not guilty' verdict the best legal team money could buy got for him, I think there was way too much smoke for their not to be some fire on the pederasty thing.

But he apparently had a very dysfunctional family, and got fame dumped on him at a very early age, and fame and riches may have seemed a blessing, but in the end, it wasn't.

He seemed awfully thin for someone his age to have an MI. I wonder (maybe watching too much Dr. G) if he didn't suffer an aneurysm or something that mimics an MI. It was an aneurysm that killed John Ritter.

Of course, some people do get heart attacks that age.

The Michael Jackson death and the Farrah Fawcett death brings, to me, a question I have asked before. A sudden death, with little or no pain, but no chance to make amends, and say good bye to loved ones, or several years of pain and suffering, but an opportunity to tie off the loose ends, and make the final good byes and preparations for death.

She was one of the biggest stars of the late 1970s, and he was possibly the biggest star of the early 1980s.

It is a big day. Ed McMahon, former Marine officer, and late night legend passed just a few days ago, but he lived a long life, and 50 and 62 seem more than just a little too young.

Gone too soon, Michael.

"And I remember going to the record studio and there was a park across the street and I'd see all the children playing and I would cry because it would make me sad that I would have to work instead."
- Michael Jackson on recording while in the Jackson 5

Must admit I too lost interest in Michael after all the news re his supposed interests.

May his children get all the help they'll need (and hopefully a somewhat more normal life).

I also hope whomever worked on his face has retired: http://www.anomalies-unlimited.com/Jackson.html

Unbelievable day. This is nothing short of shocking and came straight out of nowhere!! I don't ever remember him having a past history of medical problems relating to this. I consider him up with Elvis and the Beatles in terms of popularity.

RIP. He was clearly musically talented, if slightly detached from reality at times.

I'm in total shock. How truly sad this is for his family and children and yes, even for us. It's the end of an era and WAAAY too early.

RIP Michael. Thank you for your wonderful music over the years. I hope that you have found peace.

I lost respect for Michael Jackson when he became a freak show. I do think he is a talent before that. I like Bad. Here is the lyrics.

Bad lyrics
Your Butt Is Mine
Gonna Take You Right
Just Show Your Face
In Broad Daylight
I'm Telling You
On How I Feel
Gonna Hurt Your Mind
Don't Shoot To Kill
Come On, Come On,
Lay It On Me All Right...

I'm Giving You
On Count Of Three
To Show Your Stuff
Or Let It Be . . .
I'm Telling You
Just Watch Your Mouth
I Know Your Game
What You're About

Well They Say The Sky's
The Limit
And To Me That's Really True
But My Friend You Have
Seen Nothing
Just Wait 'Til I Get Through . . .

Because I'm Bad, I'm Bad-
Come On
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)
You Know I'm Bad, I'm Bad-
You Know It
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)
You Know I'm Bad, I'm Bad-
Come On, You Know
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)
And The Whole World Has To
Answer Right Now
Just To Tell You Once Again,
Who's Bad . . .

The Word Is Out
You're Doin' Wrong
Gonna Lock You Up
Before Too Long,
Your Lyin' Eyes
Gonna Take You Right
So Listen Up
Don't Make A Fight,
Your Talk Is Cheap
You're Not A Man
You're Throwin' Stones
To Hide Your Hands

But They Say The Sky's
The Limit
And To Me That's Really True
And My Friends You Have
Seen Nothin'
Just Wait 'Til I Get Through . . .

Because I'm Bad, I'm Bad-
Come On
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)
You Know I'm Bad, I'm Bad-
You Know It
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)
You Know I'm Bad, I'm Bad-
You Know It, You Know
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)
And The Whole World Has To
Answer Right Now
(And The Whole World Has To
Answer Right Now)
Just To Tell You Once Again,
(Just To Tell You Once Again)
Who's Bad . . .

We Can Change The World
Tomorrow
This Could Be A Better Place
If You Don't Like What I'm
Sayin'
Then Won't You Slap My
Face . . .

Because I'm Bad, I'm Bad-
Come On
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)
You Know I'm Bad, I'm Bad-
You Know It
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)
You Know I'm Bad, I'm Bad-
You Know It, You Know
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)

Woo! Woo! Woo!
(And The Whole World Has
To Answer Right Now
Just To Tell You Once
Again . . .)
You Know I'm Bad, I'm Bad-
Come On
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)
You Know I'm Bad, I'm Bad-
You Know It-You Know It
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)
You Know, You Know, You
Know, Come On
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)
And The Whole World Has To
Answer Right Now
(And The Whole World Has To
Answer Right Now)
Just To Tell You
(Just To Tell You Once Again)

You Know I'm Smooth, I'm
Bad, You Know It
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)
You Know I'm Bad, I'm
Bad Baby
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)
You Know, You Know, You
Know It, Come On
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)
And The Whole World Has To
Answer Right Now
(And The Whole World Has To
Answer Right Now)
Woo!
(Just To Tell You Once Again)

You Know I'm Bad, I'm Bad-
You Know It
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)
You Know I'm Bad-You
Know-Hoo!
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)
You Know I'm Bad-I'm Bad-
You Know It, You Know
(Bad Bad-Really, Really Bad)
And The Whole World Has To
Answer Right Now
(And The Whole World Has To
Answer Right Now)
Just To Tell You Once Again . . .
(Just To Tell You Once
Again . . .)
Who's Bad?

Super talent of the 80's like Elvis was in the 60's. Strange how they both moved away from the rest of the worlds social norms and built the Graceland and Neverland communities. Elvis married a 14 year old girl in Graceland and Michael did his spartan nurturing thing with young boys in Neverland. Ultimately the stress of the spotlight cut both their careers short.

He apparently is still very popular as the news said that every show announced so far had been sold out.

Tragic. The most influential artist of the 80's.

Wow... I was a huge fan myself, so... wow. Right out of no where. He will never be forgotten.
