We havent gotten any here at the house either... seems like it rains all around us... I did see that we have a 30% chance of thunderstorms tomorrow as per the NOAA... Thats the highest percentage we have had in quite a while.... Lets all keep our fingers crossed!!! ((and maybe do a rain dance in the front yard or something??))

105ºf at the house today and an official 102ºf at IAH. The high 90's forecast during the next week are starting to look frigid. :froze: :spam:

The last measurable rain IN Lafayette, LA was June 3rd or 4th.

It doesn't get to 100 here nealy ever and I believe we hit 100 degrees 3 or 4 times the last week.

The local forecast shows 30 - 40% rain near the 4thof July weekend, but they said the same thing for this past week that we'd see a chance of rain in the late week.

The forecast keeps changing... hotter and drier.

We usually see a lot of afternoon showers in June. 90 - 93 degress tops and then the rain.

I don't remember ever seeing so many days in a row.... 97..98..99..97..97..99..100..102..97..99

And we got the humidity factor here. It reached 110 - 111 this past week. This crazy heat is making it hard to stay outside for more than a few minutes.

I was out on the balcony at 9 p.m. and it was still uncomfortable. I think the low is supposed to be 80!

p.s. it snowed here in december and that isn't USUAL either!

It's right around 100 outside but rain is so close!

Will today be the day we break the 25+ day streak of no measurable rain?

Lucky you. All our family/friends are coming to our home for the 4th. Some as far away as Manchester UK, FL Keys, Daytona Beach and GA. Just hope they can stand the heat. Have a great holiday folks. :flag:

You guys should of insisted on going to Key West instead! WE were supposed to have the 4th here at the house, but when daughter called f-in-law they insisted we all come out there so we "reluctantly" relented. Problem is that now proper social mores mean we now need to have them over to our home 2 times. We'll have fun anyway!!

I got soaking wet running from work to my car. It was pouring downtown! Not so much at the house. But an awesome drive home watching all the cg lightning!

Edit to add: It's been a looooooong time since i've seen this on our nws page. Oh yeah baby!

Outflow boundary approaching on radar, but it looks like the house's rainless streak is pushing 5 weeks, showers around, but none heading for us.

Yep, all wind and no rain. Ordered 1000 lbs of "block ice" to cool our 93 degree pool for the 4th. :flag: :ggreen:

Got the shaft big time in south Lafayette. The dirt underneath the trees was still dry after the solid line of storms managed to break up right over me only to reform to the south. I hear the Broussard area could have gotten 3" today but I'd say .10" tops here. It was at least nice to hear the thunder again and the big time cool down into the 70's after hitting 101 again today. Should have a few more chances of getting wet later in the week into the weekend but local met was already hinting at more heat and dry weather next week with the return of the ridge. I have a feeling this is how summer 2009 will be.

Edit: Local mets originally said much drier tomorrow but the NWS appears to differ. Let's try this again tomorrow!

Don't tell me I am the only Houstonian on this board that got rain tonight!! Thought it was going to miss us, but it fooled me again! :woo: :jump: We've had 0.80" of rain and it is still raining lightly with plenty of lightning still around. Temps down to 74ºf from the 105ºf high today. Haven't seen 74ºf in over a month I don't think.

I saw on one American station that Canada will be sending a cold front down shortly (the announcer said some days we really appreciate them ;) ). So in the spirit of being a good neighbour I'll have them change the forest of windturbines, down by Gull Lake, to face your direction.

p.s. overnight temps have been in the 50's to 60's here and daytime more or less averaging in the mid to high 70's.

Ya'll will have to get your winter jackets out.
