Chicago Weekend

#1 Postby Dee Bee » Wed Jul 08, 2009 3:21 pm

Although I had to use up all my leave earlier this year because of my stroke, I've accumulated 2 days of vacation -- so I'm off for my old hometown, Chicago. We're going to the wedding of "daughter #2," our own daughter's best friend from high school. I'll also get to visit with my own best friend, whom I haven't seen in over a year, as well as with as many long-time friends from the area as possible. The best part will be all the babysitting, since my husband, myself, our daughter, her husband, and the baby will all be flying up and staying in the same hotel together.

And, of course, another best part will be the amazing Chicago food: deep-dish pizza (Lou Malnati's, for those in the know), Italian beef sandwiches (gotta be from Portillo's), and carmel/cheese/butter popcorn mix (Morrow's). Those 30 pounds I've painstakingly lost since February may be darn difficult to maintain!
