A Hurricane Called Betsy

#1 Postby Pearl River » Sat Jul 18, 2009 5:31 pm

If this has been posted in the past I apologize. I thought this was pretty interesting. A Civil Defense motion picture titled "A Hurricane Called Betsy". Brings back a lot of memories. It's 29 minutes long and was created in 1966.

My sister lived on Miami Beach when Betsy passed through - in fact, she sent us a front page copy of The Miami Herald or Miami News that included a picture of a hotel with one wall missing (we moved to Miami a few years later, and some of the kids at my middle school told me their own Betsy stories)...

As we all know, it was to be the last major hurricane to strike South Florida until Andrew, almost 27 years later...
