Well, I'll stay away from the hose today, since it's Garrett's birthday - I'm leaving a big chocolate birthday cake, so you'd better hurry, make a wish, and blow out those candles, wxbuddy!

We just came back from "Meet the teacher day" at my sons elementary school. I got out of the car, walked 2 steps, and was dripping sweat. BLECH!!!!! The teach seemed nice. She is going to have a blast with my 8 (almost 9) year old 3rd grader. He is a great kid. Last week, he wanted to finish his summer reading log so he insisted that we go to the library. There, he took out poetry books. Some by Langston Hughes. I get the sense that by middle school, I will be a spectator for his academic progress. My oldest just came back from a week at a swimming camp and is running a fever. I hope he doesn't miss the first day of school. He is a good student too, but more normal. I have to gently remind him (yell) to do his homework. And then there is my 4 year old. Cute, and he knows it. He is a ton of fun. I really enjoy playing with him and will miss this stage in his life when he gets older.

What is fun is when you get old like me and have grandchildren and you start remembering all that stuff again. Sometimes you get to watch your children's "bad times" revisit them too.
And when they are grown children like mine you get to enjoy(or be freaked about but still go)going to the drag races or whatever with your adult child and start to relive some of your own teen/20's fantasies/doings. Life is a blast!!

Good grief, I haven't been around in forever. Mind if I pull up a seat?

Thanks vb! It's been too long. My life is crazy lately...I have been doing an offline project for a couple months, but something that looks like it could benefit many people long term. Also been writing a local media blog for the Cincinnati area that gets a few hundred page views a week, which I'm proud of. And of course staying busy with family and all too
