lol Hiya raine....you guys got more than us for once I think! We just got the winds and still over a foot, but it was unreal here earlier today. Those pics serve no justice really...I snapped em a little later in the day. I'll be runnin the blower tomorrow...no more injuries! This snow is light but my backyard and side yard has an unreal drift solid....maybe 5 feet deep all the way around easy. My firewood is almost gone...cmon Spring!

Rob, how much snow did you get out of this latest blizzard? 4-5 feet Drifts! Wow!!! All I can say is get out the snowtube, lets go sledding!
We are lucky to have snow on the ground, currently have 6" on the ground. Some parts are ice. It got up to 26* today! Currently 21* right now.
If you were in the US Air Force, please email me. I'm about to make the biggest decision of my life and I would like to hear your story on why you went into the AF.
Stay warm everyone.

Rob you need a snowfence, but it's probably a bad time to go out there now....maybe you can try to seal up those cracks with duck tape

Eric even you are the Ice Man buddie. Hope you thaw out soon.
Oh but wait, you guys all like the blizzards, snow shoveling, below-zero wind chills, black ice, frozen car locks, and all the other festivities that go along with record snowfall, lol. At least you're not bored - it may not be a 'cane or tropical system, but it's weather. We finally had some measurable rain out here too, so fun was had by all from one weather system

Cycloneye, see what you're missing down in the tropical realms? Wouldn't you like to go out and shovel 7 feet of snow from your driveway, sidewalk, knock snow off the roof & from the gutters on the house so it won't backup inside

Pojo are you thinking about joining the Air Force girl???
Well have to take off so thanks everyone for helping with the rain/snow. Let's do it again: josh, jacki, isobar, aslkahuna, azsnowman, vb, pburgh, raine, steph, chad, streetsoldier, bigd, breeze, dolphin, southerngale, rainband, fury, jqpublic, wx247, amanzi, coldfront and everyone else who concentrated.... Great Job!

Hi all!
This is my first official visit to the PBS here. What a nice surprise finding this topic!
Raine, so glad you joined Storm2K too! Nice place isn't it? When I saw your name, I couldn't help but smile. We even have a chat room here! Haven't tried it yet though. No time!
Pojo, M2, Cycloneye, Stephanie, coliolis, petal, tsmith, Garrett, Chad, Sky, Bill, Pburgh, ColdFront77, Joshua, Toalba/2Seam, David - many, many familiar faces!!! Rob, I've said hello to you many times at this site but once more - hello! I *never* see a reply from you though, LOL!!!! What are you up to now, a million?
Looking forward to making new friends too! So sorry if I missed your name above! Trying to do catch up here - only 29 pages to read thru! Busy, busy place this warm PBS topic!
Here on the east side of Cincy, we had mostly ice/sleet and a few inches of snow. Just north of our city, areas received 5 inches! That ice/snow line was quite close for me. My kids had school today but many schools were closed. Impossible to shovel this stuff unless you want to risk using salt and then watch your driveway crumble away.
Have a good day everyone!

lol M2...and HI Mary...I'm sure I said hi a few times all over the place....they are buried in the back pages by now! Good luck sifting thru 3000 posts girl! lol Well, I'm not gonna duct tape anything in this weather...lol Everything is encased...I cant see out of my basement for the first time ever! Makes for good insulation, but i feel like I'm in a damn igloo now! There's no way a snow fence would help me here. When we get an east wind.....it cranks 40-70 mph up here....when the lake is frozen, there's nothing stopping it...no friction and it comes off another higher hill...so we just get slammed and drifted like you have seen.
Its snowing pretty hard right now and I will snap some more pics and also take some video as well....kind of like before and after snowblowing...this will take awhile! At least my car and everything else didnt get lumpy, settling snow this time....it came down hard and blew everywhere. Be back a little later with more pics!

Hey Rob ... your average PPD right now is 215.64285714285714285714285714286. Just an FYI.
Good morning to all here at the PBS. It is a partly cloudy morning here in SoCal. The current temp is, for all practical purposes, 60 degrees.
Glad to hear that the storm is finally winding down. I am sure that we've all had enough of it for now.
Well gotta get some stuff done before my doctor's appointment later this morning, so I'll see you later today! Joshua

lol Josh...its a little higher than that! Click on my profile icon and you'll see its up a little higher! At least by these boards' standards!
I just got inside and I'll be sore for days after this cleanup. I snapped some video and digital pics....the usual shots I take here, but with different perspectives and scenes....this snow is DEEP! I saw a few 8-9 foot drifts alogside the road...not from plowing and snowblowing either....just what the wind piled up there and from past storms! I took a pic along the road and the snowblower looks like a matchbox car alongside it! I'll post them soon here in another thread in the USA Weather forums.
It took 2 tanks of gas in the blower and 2.5 hours to get through mostly waist deep snow...some places chest deep in the driveway and also the sidewalk. It is a dry snow....very easy to throw...sucks for snowman and snowballs though!
I measured with the yardstick in 3 different calmer places...we got 25" on average here....more than I thought, and more than some places got as well. I called it into the NWS in Binghamton and I should be able to see the stats show up for all to see on their site in days to come. I gotta dry off and shower...I'll get those shots on and relax..I'm shot!
As it stands...we have almost 4 feet of snow on the ground....25" plus some crusty older snow that never seems to melt....which was a little over 20". Ok this is enough snow for me and I have to update my totals to 106" for the year. Another 9" and I will have witnessed the biggest snow season ever here...and in history.
1993/1996 were big years as well, but this has been non-stop from November to early Jan...then the serious cold...now back to this snow again. Spring is on the way in a few weeks, but it'll be hard pressed to see my lawn until late May.

Goodness Rob, that's just amazing! Many people don't see anywhere near that much snow in their entire lifetime. People like me way down here in the deep south rarely even see flurries.
Cool and sunny here today...just beautiful outside.
Funny Rob's average posts per day isn't much less than my total posts!!! And I feel like I post a lot!! :o
