And by 50% he really means it rains just about every day. here in Jacksonville you can almost count on a 30 to 60 minute storm everday between 2-5.

As long as they don't close the parks - I can play in the rain :)

I wouldn't be concerned about TD 2, I'd keep an eye on the big system behind it. Though it's way too early to say who'll be threatened or hit, the timing is such that it COULD be near Florida on the 22nd of August, as some models (ECMWF/GFS) are forecasting. But it could also turn north well to the east of Florida or even enter the Gulf. All this depends on it developing, of course. Stay tuned.

hey queen, you ever been in a florida tstorm in the summer, last place you want to be is outside my friend, get to the parks when they open and do your thing and be ready to run for cover after 12 pm and in an hour or so be ready to enjoy the park because the tstorm event will be over, its like clockwork in this part of the world

I don't see it doing much at all until it gets past 40-42W, if it survives to that. Shear continues to increase in its area. Once past 42W, there is practically no shear.

The long slow poof. Will it come back later tonight?

Looking at the QS, the highest (non contaminated) wind barbs I see is one 30 knot barb. The rest are 15 to 20 knots, and there are a few 25 knot barbs scattered around. Looking at that and the satellite images, I would go no higher than 25 knots for current intensity.

Looking at that image above, if its forward speed were to increase by maybe 5 to 7 knots, it would open up and be just a sharp trough (much like Maka).

That confirms what appeared to be happening this afternoon. The southeastern part of the circulation is in terrible shape.

Wow, I would laugh if this doesn't even become a TS. If this tropical cyclone is a indication of things to come, this season will be a real snoozer. No responses of "It only takes one" please. Not to discount anything, just my faith in the 2009 Atlantic hurricane season is non-existent.

If you weren't in Canada, that could be a very dangerous attitude to have. You could say much the same thing about 1992 at about this same time, and I'm pretty sure you would not describe Andrew as a "snoozer"

Deep convection is nearly gone and there is evidence of dry slotting. It would appear TD 2 is dissipating.

a number of systems this year have already shown that even a tropical storm can cause major problems, injuries and death.

so nothing should ever been taken lightly or called a snoozer!

I think he is referring to this season being quiet in terms of being able to really track anything...not destruction or death...hence the "No responses of "It only takes one" please. Not to discount anything, just my faith in the 2009 Atlantic hurricane season is non-existent."
