AF Reserve confirm an EIGHT FOOT WALL of water has entered Oro Valley thru the CDO(Canada del Oro)Wash from 2.7+in RA at Mt Lemmon.
This is a SERIOUS SITUATION>..not since 1982 has the wash run so hard or so fast thru a populated area.
Since then, hundreds of thousands have moved into the TUS Metro area..most in the path of the CDO WASH!
Several Helo crews are on site from my backyard to La Cholla/Overton rd near the Ol Ranchita.
Many Police/agencies/Rural Metro en route,
This is serious.Water flow in excess of 25kt!At Eight FEET during peak Rush hour traffic!
Oracle rd/Lambert Lane near me...is now flooded.Major High Water!
I can take 'Chaser 1' in 4wd Low to the hiking/bike trail along the wash less than a mile from here...and backside thru the desert(offroad) to view this from the levee..this should be quite a show!

Hey D.J. -
I live near N. First Ave. and E. Palisades Rd., Oro Valley.
Since I am the designated NOAA Weather Radio WXL-30 162.40 mhz monitor (for malfunctions/outages) for the metro Tucson transmitter, I heard the first warning on the radio. NWS loaned me an $80. NWR receiver with EAS/SAME to perfom the monitoring - including the Wednesday tests.
I think that this kind of event (on the
CDO Wash) happened about 5 years ago.
When are they going to build the bridge
over the CDO Wash at La Cholla? Do we have
to wait until Oro Valley annexes that area?
