Benn a little busy this moring and was quite surprised when I saw the depression. Been moving boats around this morning and now it is time to sit back and relax.

Almost looks like its developing an eyewall on this VIS SAT. I think the last few hours its been moving more W-NW.

This system reminds me a lot of 1994's Tropical Storm Beryl in location and structure. In that storm, the highest winds weren't around the center "commahead" area, but were in the large S-N oriented rainband to the east of the circulation. Panama City only got light winds at landfall while Tallahassee and Alligator Point were sustained at 46-50 mph with guests to 65 mph.

Wow what a quick spin up, 3 named storms in 2 days now who would have thought?! Thankfully this is almost ashore as it's rapidly organizing.

Wow, go to bed on a low probability of formation, wake up to a TD, and now it's Claudette. That's what I get for not staying up late

Don't think this is over water much longer. Maybe 3 hours at most.

It's a good thing, considering it's increased organization, though it's not surprising, since it did bring us about 6 hours of pretty nasty weather yesterday morning and afternoon...

Just think it had code yellow yesterday evening and from what I can tell the GFS doesn't really have much of a clue about this thing in the 12Z.......wow the GOM certainly is a powerhouse for systems to develop.....good thing this one is about out of time.

Especially when you consider a week or 2 ago, some folks thought we wouldn't get 3 storms out of the whole season!!! Get two or three more bursts of activity like this during the next 2 months, and we will easily hit 10 storms.

Wonder if the shallow water of the N Gulf Coast will have any effect on the strength of TS Claudette?

Radar suggesting that its slowing down somewhat in the last hour or so and wobbling a little more to the WNW. Very impressive spin up as others have said.

You would almost suspect a westward bump from the radar. Can't tell from that mess.
